Maxims Tower in Resorts World Manila

When I first heard that Manila will soon have a 6-star hotel, my initial impression was "who can actually afford to stay there?" Months passed and after the opening of the very impressive Marriott Hotel followed by the Newport Mall, the doors of the 6-star hotel named Maxims Tower formally opened to the public.

Who would have thought that Paul and I would get invited to have a private dinner at Impressions and to check out the rooms in this all-suites hotel? Thanking our lucky stars, we headed to Maxims Tower one evening excited for the dinner and tour ahead.

I will tell you more about the dinner in my next entry but let me give you a brief tour around the new Maxims Tower first.

First and foremost, what makes Maxims Tower different from all the high-end hotels in Manila is that it's the only one that gives you your personal butler at any given time of the day. Yes, that's personalized butler service 24/7! Next, it's the only all-suites hotel in town, expect that you room is extra bigger compared to any other hotel room of the same level. While chatting with the butlers, I realized that they can basically make all your wishes come true! Be it a hard-to-find fruit, milk and cookies at the middle of the night, assistance in getting a transportation to take you around town, you name it, they'll do it! Imagine having someone ready to attend to you whenever you need it.

Our tour began at the lobby at the 4th level of the hotel where we were told that this is actually just temporary and they will soon transfer to the ground floor. Makes a lot of sense, right? We then proceeded to the restaurant-bar located at the same level where hotel guests can take their breakfast in the morning.

From the restaurant-bar, we walk out the other door where we saw the first ever aquarium pool in the country. Quite romantic, if you ask me. All rooms located at the side of the pool has an easy access to it. However, if you happen to stay at the other side of the hotel well don't worry, in fact I'd think you have to consider yourself lucky as you get to have to your private jacuzzi!

As the hotel only has suites available for guests which guarantees your comfort and security, the VVIPs can find more privacy in their very own villas (approx. $2,500) located near the pool area. I love the design of these villas as it reminds me of Bali. Personally, I don't mind not staying in a villa, I still want the modern look and feel of a comfy hotel suite.

We headed next to the most basic suite in the hotel -- the Maxims Suites (approx. $300). The size is pretty small but what caught my attention was the bright red couch that can probably sit 4 people comfortably. It's perfect to hang out while watching TV.

However, if I were to stay here with Paul, I don't he'll be able to watch TV as I will be busy updating this blog using the wireless keyboard by our bedside. ;) Poor Paul, he'll just be watching me blog all night long. Either that or he should just bring our iPod along and enjoy the music with the iPod dock instead.

Another cool feature is the Avaya phone screen that is available in all rooms. No need to use the phone to call your butler, in just a few clicks you can immediately call the butler office to make your request.

You may also order room service through this amazing gadget!! Cool!!

After viewing the Maxims Suites, we headed to the Signature Suites (approx. $635) which is the perfect room should you want to throw an intimate party with friends. You enter the room to see a big receiving area. Here's where you can have your friends hang out while watching tv, using the internet or just chit-chatting with one another.

To ensure your privacy, the bedroom is located adjacent to the receiving area where you get a big king size bed that looks so comfy that I was literally fighting the urge to lie down for a short nap.

What men can't understand is why women just loveeee big bathrooms. My husband would just shake his head whenever we find ourselves in a nice hotel with a huge huge bathroom and I would happily get so excited about it. What bewilders him even more is how I can spend an entire hour inside. These are some questions that I really think will never ever be answered. :)

Well ladies, check this beautiful bathroom out! It's h-u-g-e!! Aside from the fact that there's a powder room at the receiving area, you can take your time and relax in your very own bath tub in here. Note that the mirror are demistfying mirrors which means even how long it would take you to take your warm bath, the mirrors will continue to stay clear the entire time.

I want my warm bubble bath now!!!

Just to answer my initial impression if there would be anyone who can afford to stay in Maxims Tower, well I was told that we can't view the Villas, the Mansion and all the bigger rooms because they're ALL occupied. So with that my question has been answered.

I would love to stay a night at the Maxims Tower. Imagine having a romantic dinner at Impressions (the hotel's one week old restaurant) and enjoy our Signature Suite while taking dip at the pool or in our private jacuzzi. Now that's truly VIP treatment.

Maxims Tower is located Newport Boulevard, Newport City in Pasay, Metro Manila. Call them at +632-908-8888 or +632-908-8000 loc. 8220. Email them at maximshotel@rwmanila.com.
