Early Bird Breakfast Club at the Bonifacio Global City

Growing up, Mommy and Papa always remind us that "the early bird catches the worm." They have been repeating this saying over and over again year on year as they remind us to try our darnest to make it to school on time. Well, sadly Pan and I are not natural early risers and till this day, we do value sleep so much that we can actually stay in bed all day long. If there's one thing that could easily make us get up early on a Saturday morning then it would probably be...FOOD.

I've mentioned a number of times before how much I love going out for brunch. Fellow food blogger Anton must be right in predicting that this must be the start of an All-Day Breakfast or perhaps, Brunch craze in Manila. I hope he's right at it would be so fun to be able to meet up with friends over brunch on a lazy weekday morning.

So far, I personally do enjoy having brunch at Milky & Sunny in Kapitolyo and at the Cake Club in Bonifacio Highstreet Central. Thus, when Pan and I heard the news that a new all-day breakfast restaurant recently opened at the Fort Strip, we made it a point to pull ourselves out of bed earlier than usual one Saturday to have our sisterly bonding session.

We got to the Fort Strip at 10AM and headed straight to the new building across the Fort Strip and saw the bright girly pink signage of Early Bird Breakfast Club. It's so pink, I love it!

The restaurant is really new so do expect a couple of hiccups here and there. We personally wasn't too pleased at how we were handled by the server by the door and we hope they'll eventually have a better seating system in place soon. The place was packed on a Saturday morning and the concept is just too cute that it seriously has potential to grow someday. That is if they can find a way not to immediately turn customer down the moment they step inside the restaurant.

The menu was pretty extensive and everything just seemed so good and interesting! Pan and I seriously wanted to order at least half of the menu but we had to narrow it down to three as anything beyond that is simply called gluttony. Since Early Bird Breakfast Club operates 24 hours on Fridays and Saturdays, some of the items were already out of stock by the time we ordered them. I was initially interested to try the Lemon Butter Bangus (Php. 325) but was told that they don't have this anymore.

Instead, I went for my 2nd choice the Viva Longganisa (Php. 345) which is a hearty plate of heirloom-recipe longganisa, a filling cup of breakfast rice and choice of egg. The longganisa was on the spicy side which my sister really liked. I, on the other hand, prefer the sweeter kind so this one was just a-ok for me but the rice was good and so was the yummy scrambled egg.

Pan tried the Adobo Surprise (Php. 315) and we both liked the crisp adobo flakes that goes perfectly well with a big serving of breakfast rice. Their breakfast rice is actually their own version of every Filipino's favorite sinangag (garlic fried rice) topped with strips of spring onions. Hope they can tone down the saltiness though of the adobo flakes as we had to drizzle the rice with vinegar to balance out the flavor.

Lastly, we also tried the Eggs Atlantic (510) to share. Pan and I both love Eggs Benedict and since this one had smoked Norwegian salmon instead of ham, we went for this instead. I'm glad we ordered this as it actually turned out to be my favorite dish that day. We kept on raving about it after every bite. I love the freshness of the salmon, the slight crunch of the lettuce, the creaminess of the hollandaise sauce. It was just perfect and I love it!

Despite the hiccups, we both had a great brunch paired with an equally interesting conversation. I can't wait to go back to Early Bird Breakfast Club to try their other items. Hopefully, by then, my Lemon Butter Bangus will be available for me to try.

Well, I'm not really sure about the early bird catching the worm but I can say that early risers are now assured of a good place to eat should hunger strikes at whatever time of the day.
