Cafe Ilang-Ilang of the Manila Hotel Blooms

There's a different feel the moment you step into the big wooden doors of Manila Hotel. The historical nostalgia that gives you a sense of the old yet with a touch of the new. I remember hanging out at the lobby with my family as we enjoy our tall glasses of Halo-halo on a warm summer day. I love walking into their big wooden bathroom doors and the fact that they're the only hotel back then that had a dispenser for disposable toilet covers.

It's amazing how Manila Hotel continues to keep up with time. I've witnessed this during my lunch at Cafe Ilang-Ilang a few days ago. While there are more and more hotels offering irresistible buffet choices, I believe that Cafe Ilang-Ilang is one hotel buffet that you should consider and here are some reasons why:

They have 9 (yes counted them all!) stations to choose from. From kimchi, bulgogi and chap chae...You'd be transported to Seoul without having to ride an airplane.

I love their Chinese station where I couldn't resist trying the dimsum and the Yang Chow Fried Rice

Their sushi station was my first stop. Hello to my raw sashimi friends!

I wanted to go Mediterranean and the Lamb Fajitas was pretty good.
While I think the Hummus could still be improved.

Pinoys will surely rejoice at the sight of this mouth-watering Lechon.
Just a small piece of that crunchy skin, please. :)

Crabs, King Prawns and Oysters!
Fill your seafood-loving heart with delight as you enjoy the freshest catch of the day.
I'm sure Paul would love this station the most.

Don't forget to cap your meal with dessert!
They also have sugar-free options for those watching their sugar level.
I love the marshmallow fondue! Oh what a joy to feel like a kid again!

Lastly, the highlight of my lunch was bumping into a fellow food blogger whom I truly admire and follow. Hello Jin (who loves to eat, just like me! haha)!

It was a delicious meal that I'm actually planning to go back with Paul soon. While the choices are not as extensive as that of other hotel buffets in the area, I think the Japanese, Korean and Chinese stations would make your visit worthwhile. Also, grab a table near the poolside and enjoy the marvelous view of the pool and out to the calm waters of Manila Bay.
