Frannywanny Holiday Gift Idea : 115 Manila Restaurants We Love

For the Foodie friend

In today's digital age, more and more books are being converted into iPad formats where readers can access their favorite books and novels by downloading this through the App Store. Well, not me. I'm still very old-fashioned when it comes to reading my books and magazines. Take my growing collection of Sophie Kinsella novels and Lonely Planet travel books that I would still buy from the bookstore every so often. I love the feel of the cover, running my fingers over the embossed title and the smell of newly printed paper is simply soooo addicting. *snifffff*. The same goes for magazines. Luckily, I read magazines as part of my career and I enjoy flipping through the papers and admiring the beautiful photography in the process.

Look at what I'm reading at the moment -- Eat Out Now! 115 Manila Restaurants We Love! (Php. 250). It's the best book for all foodies out there. I first got my copy a few weeks ago and up until now I'm not yet even halfway through the book. It's taking me so long because I keep on adding more restaurants to my already jam-packed list. I would slowly go through the recommended dishes and would refer back to some other restaurants once in a while.

This book was published by Summit Media and it was written by Alicia Colby Sy, the lifestyle editor of Town & Country Magazine. She was also the one who took care of this year's very comprehensive Dessert List found in Yummy magazine's November issue. She's such a foodie and a well-respected one in the industry.

The book also includes comments and articles from well-respected foodies such as food writer Cyrene dela Rosa, Chef JJ Yulo, Marketman Joel Binamira, wine connoisseur Noel Ermitano and fellow food bloggers Sanjeeb Gopaldas and (super cutie) Erwan Heusaff!

What I love about this book is how the restaurants are carefully categorized into the different cities in Metro Manila. This was so useful when Paul and I spent the weekend in Alabang. I simply focused on this chapter of the book as we made our dining plans.

If you're currently filling up your Christmas list, I highly recommend that you surprise your foodie friends and loved ones with a copy of this handy and truly mouthwatering book! :)
