I Shall Return... and I Did! : The Bellevue Hotel in Alabang

Ahhhh...Staycation.

Hearing the word is enough to make my heart leap and do tiny cartwheels all day long. Who doesn't want a vacation, right?

You might have noticed that Paul and I love going on staycations. The main reason behind it is this... staycations keep us sane. Sometimes work and day-to-day craziness can really be stressful and since it's just not practical to jet off on a whim (yes, we're so past that stage already hehe), the best option is to explore what the city has to offer and to stay the night or two in one of our choice hotels to enjoy the room and the amenities as well.

This practice began when we got married three years ago. I have to say that Manila has a lot of really nice hotels so the challenge lies on choosing which one to try this time. The same can be said for Singapore. We've stayed the night at a number of hotels here and every single time, we go home rejuvenated and much more relaxed compared to when we first checked-in.

Last December, Paul and I had another fun staycation with my parents this time at The Bellevue Hotel in Alabang. It was our second time to stay here and I have to say, this is definitely my favorite hotel in the South of Manila. We were given two Deluxe (Php. 5,200++) rooms in the Tower Wing which can comfortably fit 2-3 adults. The Tower Wing is the newer wing where it has a modern-looking interiors, a well-lit lobby and a nice long pool. The Main Wing though needs some refurbishment work and I do hope they'd do it soon as walking from the Main Lobby to the Tower Lobby clearly shows the contrast between the two. Should you stay at The Bellevue Hotel, I highly recommend that you request for a room at the Tower Wing.

Our room was very spacious (33sqm) and has a king size bed, a flat-screen TV and all the regular inclusions such a mini bar, an iron board, a safety deposit box and lots of storage spaces. What I love most though is the bathroom which was so big! It has both a bath tub and a shower enclosure with rain showerhead. The toilet has a bidet which we're all so happy about. Finally, a hotel that gives high regards to personal hygiene.

As we entered the room, we were so touched with the warm welcome as we were greeted with these bowl of fruits, a bottle of bubbly and a personal note from the hotel manager. Nothing beats receiving personalized service, don't you agree?

After resting a bit in our respective rooms, we decided to head up to the Executive Lounge to have our afternoon snack. Knowing that Paul and I will have a lauriat dinner with our fellow bloggers in a few hours, we still couldn't resist the temptation upon seeing skewers of fresh seafood, a platter of assorted cheeses, some sandwiches and cakes too!

Walking inside the Executive Lounge, you'll immediately feel the serious business vibe. Wooden walls and heavy upholstered furniture reminds me of my Kongkong's old study room. I have to admit though that I was expecting something more vibrant looking with light, colorful couches and perhaps some pipe-in music to relax you even further. The view was amazing though as you get to see Alabang. What made our afternoon snack amazing was the service rendered by the staff. I failed to get his name but he was really very attentive and I have to say, he just got to be the best lounge staff that I've ever came across with in my life!

We enjoyed hanging out at the Executive Lounge that we decided to have breakfast there the next day. This was a big thing for me as I usually prefer a bigger buffet spread but since my parents want something light then the Continental Breakfast at the Executive Lounge it is.

No regrets though as we were well taken cared of again by the same staff (does he ever sleep?!) and he even offered to get me some whole wheat bread when he noticed that I was searching through the bread basket for quite a while. I noticed that he was also equally attentive to other guests having their breakfast too. Of course, I filled my plate with slices of cheese, fresh fruits and some sausages too. Yummy!

That was just half a reason of why we all enjoyed our stay at The Bellevue Hotel. I'll tell you about my delicious Chinese lauriat dinner at The Phoenix Court with my favorite bloggers tomorrow.

Till then... why not schedule your own staycation at The Bellevue Hotel soon?
