Tech Talk : PLDT Home DSL

Image
*Sponsored Post* I must have mentioned a million times how technology has played a vital role in helping us cope with homesickness. Sure, we may live more than a thousand kilometers away from home but being able to get in touch with my family whenever I want to has helped ease the sadness whenever I miss them so much. s Sister Act: Me and Pan during one of our many Skype chats What's important is to have a good internet connection. The worst times are when the connection would hang and you'd be spending most of your time saying "hello? hello? can you hear me? hellooo?" rather than to update each other on how our respective days went. In today's age, technology has proven to help us make life easier. From assisting the kids in getting their home works done, to adults interacting with one another and coordinating their business too, it's not a big surprise to see home fully equipped with a broadband connection for everyone to stay connected. I have to

Just a Quick Note...

I know I haven't been blogging as regularly as I used to. Hope you all forgive me. It's just that, my most favorite season is here and my offline life is as busy as ever! Catching up with old friends, meeting a couple of new ones along the way and of course, dedicating most of our time to our families. Yes, Christmas is here and soon, we will be welcoming 2015 too! I'll be blogging sporadically but I promise to be back to regular programming come January!  From my (two) families to yours, wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy (and Yummy) New Year! ♥

Christmas Feast #3: Morganfield's Christmas Platter

Image
Merry Christmas!!! Finally my most favorite time of the year is here and I'm one happy happy girl! Lately, Paul and I have been dining with friends to celebrate the holiday season. We have just been back for a few days and so far our days are packed with get-togethers and meet-ups with family and friends whom we have been so excited to catch up and be reunited with. If there's one holiday that we promised we'll never missed, it would definitely be this. So, what are you plans for Christmas Day? If you're thinking of taking the family out for a good meal, why not go and have a feast! Morganfield's recently launched their special Morgan's Christmas Feast (S$149.90++). This is good for 4-5 or even more to share! Each platter will give you 4 grilled sausages, half slab of the Christmas Cranberry Sticky Bones, half slab of the Christmas Hazelnut Sticky Bones, tender Bourbon Marmalade Glazed Ham Slices, Smoked Turkey Legs and a wide-array of sides such as roast

Whole & Hearty in Icon Village : Healthy Breakfast Bar

Mommy would always tell us that "breakfast is the most  important meal of the day." Well, what she forgot to mention is that it can also be the most exciting one too. You see, I normally wake up feeling hungry that the first question that enters my mind is "what should I eat this morning?" So, it is always so exciting for me to plan what should I have for my first meal of the day. For the past year, breakfast for me would either be of two things: a) a bowl of instant oatmeal in chocolate or banana honey flavor b) a bowl of fruity yogurt with my favorite whole grain cereals on top Gone are the days wherein I would have rice for breakfast. Perhaps, the only times I'd have my ever-reliable silog is when I'm in Manila. Living here in the Lion City, I've become more conscious of what I eat and that includes getting into the habit of starting my day right. While I love my two breakfast options dearly, I have to admit that it can get tiring to have this

Hotel Review: Sheraton Imperial Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Image
During our quick weekend getaway in Kuala Lumpur, my sister offered to make use of her accumulated miles to fully pay for our 2 nights hotel accommodation at the Sheraton Imperial Hotel . Thank goodness for jet-setting little sisters who got a substantial amount of miles that needed to be redeemed soon! The best part about this is that the choices available were really nice. It was pretty much choosing from a number of 5-star hotels in the city. What a good problem to have! Sheraton Imperial Hotel  is one of the premier hotels in Kuala Lumpur. It's located along the busy Jalan Sultan Ismail where the nearest monorel station (Medan Tuanku) is just right beside the hotel's entrance. It's quite convenient to go to the busy shopping area (Bukit Bintang) or to have some late night snack at Jalan Alor. Sadly, the KLCC area is a bit out of the way as it's too near to take a cab to but a bit too far to walk. The hotel is also beside a street called  Heritage Walk , it's

Yeast Bistronomy in Kuala Lumpur

As much as the idea of staying in bed for the entire day and to just laze around the hotel room sounds so inviting, this is normally not the case whenever I travel. For someone who loves to take it easy and slow, my travel itinerary is always planned around meals. This means, I should have breakfast, lunch and dinner plus snacks in between. No time can ever be wasted as there are just so much to try and oftentimes, so little time to do them all. So, during our quick weekend getaway to Kuala Lumpur , we were up and out of the hotel at 8am on a Saturday morning. Our breakfast destination was at Bangsar, a town located at the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur. I'm guessing that this place is majority residential so it's interesting to note that there are quite a number of must-visit cafes and restaurants that recently opened in this area. One of those has been rated as one of the best brunch places in Kuala Lumpur. I guess a lot of people had the same plan of having breakfast at

They say, traveling is always a good thing. No matter how short or long the journey may be, rest assured that you'll return home richer -- not necessarily monetarily but in knowledge. The experience and the people you'll encounter along the way will give you a better idea about the country's culture, way of life and its rich history too. I'm lucky that my parents made sure that Pan and I got to travel early on in our lives. School, after all, can only teach you so much, but learning a new language or being exposed to something that's unfamiliar to us will always bring about a lot of memories and new learnings. This is also why we're such travel fanatics till this day. So, it has just been a few months since my last visit to Kuala Lumpur and there I was again last weekend. The trip was pretty much spontaneous as it just came about as I was chatting with my sister one afternoon. She commented that she hasn't been to the Petronas Towers and knowing her fa

Christmas Feast #2 at MELT, Mandarin Oriental Singapore

Image
Tis the season of endless eating *falalalala lalalalaaaaa* Here's the second installment of my Christmas Feast series in the Lion City! Recently, I had one of the yummiest lunch breaks that I've ever had in the history of my career here in Singapore. It was c/o the sweet folks over at Mandarin Oriental as I was given the chance to be part of the exclusive sneak peek of their Christmas offering. Normally, dining at MELT means indulging to our tummies delight at their famous buffet spread. This time though, I was led towards a long table where fellow bloggers and media friends were seated. Christmas, after all, is all about sharing and having the entire family together for a good meal and that's exactly what we had that day.

Chabuton Ramen Singapore in 313 Somerset

I love it when friends come to visit and even more when they would take the time out to drop me a message and to spend a good meal with me and Paul! Really, I know how crazy a tourist's schedule can be so I really do try my best to make the most of the time set aside for me. I really do feel the love, dear friends. You guys know who you are. ♥ So, when my high school seat mate and good friend J flew in to Singapore for her business trip, I made it a point to do a good research on where to take her out for dinner. I'm glad that J is also such a foodie like Paul and I so she was pretty much game to go anywhere. It was perfect timing also that she came just around the time that Chabuton Ramen opened its first branch at 313 Somerset and the buzz about it went around for months! Singapore is indeed abundant when it comes to ramen places but every time one opens, expect to see a long queue outside without fail. It just goes to show how much we love our bowls of ramen just as

My favorite time of the year is finally HERE! Okay, so I have officially became more of a giver than the recipient of Christmas gifts but seeing the happy look on the faces of my family and friends especially the little ones never fails to melt my heart. I'm lucky that Paul also shares the same love for this festive holiday so we enjoy doing our Christmas shopping together. Ho ho ho! Aside from the gifts, I'm also excited for the Christmas dinners that we will be attending very soon. It's the season of reuniting with dear old friends and catching up with them too. So far, my December calendar is starting to get filled up with potluck dinners, lunch meet-up, coffee chats and even our regular mother-daughters breakfast bonding. So, the inevitable question this season is " where to eat ? "  Starting this month with a series of Christmas Feast options for you to consider when planning your family dinners. Let me begin by telling you about this very festive di
