Nana's Green Tea in Plaza Singapura

On days where I'm really busy at work and I feel like my brain has been drained from all that thinking, I look forward to going home and enjoying a delicious home-cooked meal by my talented hubby or should we decide to eat out, I'll ask that we go to one of our favorite restaurants instead. Yup, for someone who loves trying something new, there are just days where I would go for something familiar, something tried, tested and loved over and over again. These are where I can find my comfort food.

To me, comfort food means a plate of pasta, some hand-rolled sushi or a warm bowl of mushroom soup. One evening, Paul and I met up with cousin J and we decided to dine at Nana's Green Tea in Plaza Singapura -- a modern cafe that specializes in..you guessed it!...green tea!

So, I just had to try their Iced Matcha Latte which was delicious! It immediately reminded me of my friends Jin and Leslie who are big fans of matcha green tea! I made a mental note to take them here when they come to visit me hopefully soon *ahem*.

For dinner, I ordered a bowl of Chirashi Don as I was craving for some fresh sashimi and Japanese rice. Something simple but really delicious and fresh. Note though that I'm very picky where I get fresh sashimi as I don't want to run the risk of having a bad tummy ache or worst, having amoebiasis back again. Do be careful too as getting sick because of bad quality food can be a bummer. Nana's Green Tea seems pretty safe and clean that's why I bravely ordered something raw. You can also see from the color of the salmon and tuna above how fresh it was.

Paul got the Katsu Curry Don which he happily inhaled so quickly! He must be hungry or it was really delicious or maybe even both! Well, he's a big fan of Japanese curry so I wasn't surprised that this was his choice. He said the katsu was very tender inside and perfectly deep-fried crunchy outside while the sauce had a sweet, nutty note that he loves.

Lastly, we also got some Chicken Karaage to share. Not so bad although nothing unique about it too.

Nana's Green Tea is a fun place to hang out in especially for those who loves green tea. I can't wait to go back to try more drink variants as they have a whole menu page for it.

Nana's Green Tea is located at Plaza Singapore, #03-80/82 Orchard Road, Singapore. Call them at 6684-4312
