Earlier this month, we celebrated the birthday of one of our househelps, B. My twins would point to her as "Yaya B" which makes her very happy. She's been with us even before I gave birth to my twins and in this day and age where long-lasting househelps are a rarity, she's definitely winning the loyalty award so to speak. I do value birthdays and it has been a tradition for us to celebrate the birthdays of everyone in the house thus including our loyal helpers and even Kuya M, my Mom's driver of close to a decade. Nothing grand but rather we would prepare a simple but meaningful meal for them. After all, they have made the sacrifice to be away from their own families to be able to stay and to work for us so in return, we make it a point to make them feel like they're part of the family. I've been away from my own family to work abroad for 4 years and I know how it feels when it's your birthday and you're not with your loved ones. I am very lucky
Happy Friday! I'm not going to lie, Friday is one of my favorite days because it means, we're just a day away from the weekend! Who doesn't love the weekend, right? This is the day when I give my twins my uninterrupted attention. We would start the day with any breakfast of their choice (normally waffles for J, pancakes or peanut butter sandwich for L) followed by an hour of doing their homework and in the afternoon, we head out for their swim class! Sunday is more laid back as we would stay home and just laze around the house otherwise, we would go and visit my in laws and spend the day there. Speaking of the weekend, I suddenly remembered one of the best weekends that we've had this year so far. This was when we had our staycation at Seda Vertis North and the twins truly enjoyed every minute of it. Of course, they love our comfy and very spacious Corner Suite with an adjacent Deluxe Room as well as checking out the hotel's amenities and the Vertis North mall
As the clock strikes twelve, watch as almost everything slowly turns more festive... out comes the reds , the greens and the whites. Just like magic, happy holiday tunes starts to play putting everyone in a better mood as they make their Christmas lists. In a couple of weeks, watch as friends and family exchange gifts over a delicious spread of only the season's best. Best of all, the RED cups are HERE !!!... and they're here to stay up until January 6, 2010 !! This year, Starbucks Coffee is bringing back three of our well-loved holiday beverages namely, the Dark Cherry Mocha , the Peppermint Mocha and my personal favorite, the Toffee Nut Latte ! In addition to these highly sought-after drinks, be sure to try a couple of their plenty holiday food items such as the Creme Brulee Cheesecake , the delectable Chocolate Molten Cake , Paul's favorite the Christmas Turkey Chicken on Cranberry Bread and some returning favorites such as the Peppermint Brownie and the Toff
