Manila’s Signature Dishes 2010 : Pizza Hut Bistro

A lot of us have grown up with the popular pizza parlors in Manila and definitely, Pizza Hut stays at the forefront in our trip down memory lane. I love Pizza Hut for their amazing innovations on how they have made every pizza experience truly satisfying. It began with their cheesy thick crust pizza that I would remember staring in awe as the Pizza Hut serving would pull up a slice and there would be a lot of mozzarella strings that would lace around my pizza. This was followed by having more cheese stuffed into the crust and then there was a whole piece of sausage making even the simplest slice of pizza meaty and really yummy.

This Christmas, Pizza Hut recently came out with yet another innovation – Lechon Pizza. It’s a thick crust pizza with roast pork and topped with crunchy skin and Pizza Hut’s very own lechon sauce! It’s a real indulgence as you can taste the smokey meat and enjoy munching on the very crunchy crackling skin.

As part of Unilever Foodsolutions’ -- Manila’s Signature Dishes for 2010, you can avail of the Lechon Pizza Set where you’ll get a whole Lechon Pizza, my favorite Seafood Supremo Pizza, Olive Garden Salad and a glass of Casillero del Diablo wine.

It has been a stressful evening that the gang decided to meet up on a weeknight. I availed of the Lechon Pizza Set and everyone truly enjoyed the delicious Lechon Pizza and Seafood Pasta. We were all delighted that we were given a saucer filled with Pizza Hut’s homemade lechon sauce. It was very good that it can rival the popular commercial brand.

From the start of the dinner, I have been raving about the Seafood Supremo Pizza. Everyone eyed the parchment bag with curiosity as it was served sealed and when the server cut the bag open, we watch the steam coming out and drooled at the sight of the mouth-watering pasta.

The salad was a healthy addition to the very indulgent meal, I liked the light vinaigrette dressing which I enjoyed while sipping my glass of Castillero del Diablo red wine.

In addition to the Lechon Pizza set, we also ordered a couple of old time favorites such as the Spaghetti Shrimp Garlic and Mushroom which immediately became the group’s favorite. How can one not love the al dente pasta cooked with shrimp and mushroom sautéed in garlic-butter sauce. Lucky for me, the pasta was placed in front of me thus I was able to have two servings of this delicious pasta dish.

Also, I’ve tried Pizza Hut’s Wingstreet Buffalo Wings and I immediately placed orders for the Garlic Parmesan and the Honey BBQ for our friends to try. Just as much we have enjoyed this during our previous visit, I am still a fan of the Garlic Parmesan and Paul still loves the Honey BBQ flavored wings. We noticed that the wings are bigger this time and are served in a basket making it easier for one to grab and to munch on.

Pizza Hut Bistro truly makes a wonderful choice for your Christmas dinner with friends. After all, what better way to celebrate the holidays than with good food that is very friendly to our wallets?
