Slice at Bonifacio Highstreet Central

After a photo shoot held at an undisclosed location within Bonifacio Highstreet, I headed to Slice to relax and to have a light snack while waiting for my sister as she was still busy at work. I was still doing my Nestle Fitnesse challenge then so it took me a while to choose what I'm getting as I don't want all my efforts to go to waste. Yes, vanity sure has its price.

I love the cozy feel of Slice as it surely makes a great place to catch up with your girl friends. My only wish is that they should have free WiFi connection for those who intend to do some work here. They also have a private area at the back portion of the restaurant which would be great for small meetings.

Finally, I chose the Aglio Olio (Php. 390) and requested to have this split into two as I'm sure my sister would be hungry by the time I pick her up from work. I'll be honest, I was a taken aback by the 300+ price tag. It's a bit too high for a casual dining place like Slice and to think I'm getting the simplest pasta in the list. Even my favorite pasta place, Cibo, would have cheaper pasta dishes and they've been around for decades already. I'm glad though that the pasta wasn't a disappointment. They were pretty generous with the shrimps and salmon added into the pasta, the noodles were al dente too. I'm definitely ordering this again next time and I'm trying it with low-carb mashed potato as I'm so curious what it will taste like.

To go with my plate of pasta, I ordered the Moringa Miracle (Php. 100). A perfect diet-friendly drink and while I was bracing myself for something closely similar to wheatgrass that tastes quite a lot like....grass, I was surprised by this one. Not a single hint of Malunggay instead I can taste the citrus-y flavor brought about by the calamansi added into it. It was very refreshing and I'm so glad I was brave enough to try this. Definitely a must try!

Paul wasn't able to join me that day yet I made sure to bring something from Slice for him to try at home. Chatting with the server, I was told that their Double Choco Yema Cake (Php. 240) is one of their best-sellers. I got a slice and when I handed it to Paul, he immediately opened the box, got a fork and within minutes devoured the thick slice of cake. Wow! I was able to try a bite before the slice of cake totally disappeared and it was indeed very good. Very rich and creamy as it was a perfect combination of deep dark chocolate and caramel yema. They also have a cupcake version of this and I recommend that you try it.

Over-all, this may be one of my more expensive afternoon snack but I truly had a satisfying Slice experience. Who said healthy food has to be bland? I am excited to go back to Slice to try more of their dishes and to have another slice of that yummy Double Choco Yema Cake!
