While I got to admit that this is really one of my favorite seasons as I look forward to going home to spend the holidays with my family, I can't deny the fact that there's a bit of sadness in my heart as I continue to think of the victim of Typhoon Yolanda who continues to remain homeless up until this day. I just hope that their conditions will improve in the coming days and as a nation, we will be able to help them rebuild the city that they've lost and their lives that has been greatly disrupted.
When it comes to Christmas, we also talk about sharing the joy and celebrating traditions. In order to bring a little cheer to everyone, here I am continuing another tradition as I present this year's Starbucks Planner giveaway!!!
This year is extra special because I'm not reviewing not one but TWO cool planners which are available in the two markets very close to my heart -- Manila and Singapore. My two homes.
Let me start with the Starbucks Planner 2014 of the Philippines:
Now, what's a Starbucks Coffee planner without coupons? We're extremely spoiled as we get yearly treats for a drink upgrade, a free drink and a lot more This year's planner came not only with a sheet of coupons but with stickers too! How cute is that? I can't wait to stick these happy looking stickers to brighten up my Mondays.
I'm pretty sure you all want one. All you have to do is to complete the 2014 Planner booklet with 18 stickers (9 Christmas drinks + 9 regular drinks). Tis is definitely the season to enjoy my favorite Toffee Nut Frappuccino and Latte. Love love love....♥
Spreading the Cheer this Christmas
And this is the moment that you're all probably waiting for... this year I'm giving away not one but TWO Starbucks Coffee Planners. One planner is from Starbucks Coffee Philippines and the other one is from Starbucks Coffee Singapore.
Since I'm feeling extremely loving and generous this year, I'll go easy on the mechanics. Here's how to win your very own 2014 Starbucks Planner:
Giveaway rules:
1) Giveaway will run from 22 November to 8 December 2013.
2) You can only join once.
3) In order to qualify, you have to do ALL the steps above. Once found that a step is missing (eg: failed to follow on Facebook, etc) then the entry will immediately be disqualified.
4) Criteria of judging is based on: Quality of answer (50%) + Able to complete all steps (50%)
5) This giveaway is open to all readers in the Philippines.
GOOD LUCK!!!
Hopefully ill win the Philippine Starbucks planner. Planning to share to joy by continuing to donate and help those affected by the recent typhoon in the Visayas.

1) Tell me which planner you'd like to win: Philippines or Singapore
ReplyDeleteANSWER: I would choose the Singapore planner. The extra pockets would be very useful for me since I tend to create list and notes that I insert in my notebook/planner.
2) Tell me how you'll be sharing the joy this Christmas Season.
ANSWER: We're actually already prepared to share the joy this Christmas Season. There are 4 kids who regularly knock on our gate for bottles and plastic containers. They are "regulars" since we don't sell them those bottles; we just gave the "goods" away to help them even in that small way. Every Christmas, we actually give them food and money. But this year, we prepared wrapped gifts as well.
Also, we will add a few more donations (to what we already gave) to the victims of Yolanda. :)

1) I choose the Singapore version. It's easier to make a conscious effort to get the many different local versions which also makes its way to being a donation to typhoon Yolanda victims making it a worthwhile endeavor. But the SG version isn't as accessible to procure and I've always liked the challenge of getting stuff not found locally. Also, I am a bit of an OC and I've always liked the look and feel of leather plus this one is even a zipped version. Nothing brings out the panicky OC in me more than having my stuff inserted between journal pages falling all over the place. :)
ReplyDelete2) Been actively taking part in all the drives and causes we have to help our fellowmen in Visayas rebuild their lives from donations to dining for a cause to putting together gift of learning shoeboxes for the kids. But without forgetting that we don't overlook the people around us who may need the same love and care. So I plan on giving noche buena goodies to my "suki" pedicab driver who helps me get to the nearest taxi bay everyday going to work and also the two tireless conductors who man the terminal I go to each night to catch a trip going home making sure I get a good seat.

ReplyDeleteTell me how you'll be sharing the joy this Christmas Season.
-Here in our country, it's a tradition that Ninongs/Ninangs should give gifts to their godchildren, right? This Christmas, I thought why not make it the other way around, so, my toddler and I would be making handmade gifts for them. To let them know they are remembered even without their gifts. Because I'm trying to teach my daughter that ''Christmas is about the joy of giving and sharing; by giving something you created with your own hands, you share a piece of yourself, a labor of Love.''
Advance Merry Christmas, Frannywanny!

ANSWER: Instead of spending Christmas with the family at home, we will spend Christmas with the community, along with everyone who have been greatly affected by the typhoon Haiyan, because I am originally from Tacloban City. What better way to share the joy this Christmas than to be thankful to the Lord for keeping my family safe? However, at the same time, while my family and I attend church, we will also take into consideration the lives of those who died during the typhoon, and those who died due to hunger after the typhoon struck the province.

Christmas is all about giving/sharing gifts may it be material gifts, a gift of love, hope, peace, time or wisdom for as long as it brings happiness to other people.
Since I have relatives in Tacloban who became victims of the typhoon Yolanda, i'll make them feel the love and spirit of Christmas by adopting them until they have built/restored their home.:) I know our love and care for them would somehow ease the traumatic experiences they had. Hopefully, sooner, they will be able to recover and continue to live a normal life again.

Plus, it does not hurt that the planner comes from my motherland. :)
2) Tell me how you'll be sharing the joy this Christmas Season.
In light with the recent devastation caused by Typhoon Yolanda, I would try my best to make the victims feel that there is still hope in their lives. More than the relief goods, the food and the clothes, it is still essential to make them understand that what had happened to them is not the end of the world. They are still alive and should continue to live. I will make this effort come into reality by writing letters to them so that when Christmas comes they will know that someone is caring for them and knows that what have they been through was hard but that they should be strong and move forward in life.

1. I would love to win the Starbuck Philippine planner. :)
ReplyDelete2. I just recently took on the challenge of creating a space that captures the whole essence and joy of Christmas as our Interior Design graduating thesis, and here are some of the realizations about the season:
- it is a season of merriment and joy
- a season of family and friends wherein after a year of challenges and hard work, we get to spend this season with a grateful heart with our loved ones
- a time to give thanks to an amazing God
As a result, we came up with a candy store - reflective of feeling of joy of "a kid in a candy store", also reflects the joy of giving as a sign of thanks, may it be to family and to Jesus. So this Christmas, I have gathered all the candies, chocolate and huge lollipops I could and give it to people most need of a smile in my own little way (with a note of encouragement and hope), to street kids and beggars i see in the streets of manila. Yes, one may argue that they may need the basic things first, but nothing beats a little treat. :) In return, in seeing their smile and glitter in their eyes, I get to experience the true essence and joy of the season as well. :)

ReplyDeleteSharing the joy this Christmas by continually praying for the victims of the typhoon Yolanda and offering a prayer to our country. I pray that God will heal our land, despite of the pork barrel scam and the bad things that are happening whether in politics or not. Sharing a joy is not only about giving material things, it's also giving time and acts of service to the people around you. Smile at strangers, help an old woman cross the street, helping your mother carry the grocery bags or whatever it is and remember that she carried you everyday when you're still in her womb, studying well and continue being loyal to God. In those ways, even as a student, I will be able to share the joy and love on Christmas day and the coming days ahead.

I guess, i'll just do what i normally do... food sharing with my team & other teams. There'll be a little giftgiving (if my budget will allow), but if not, I'll give free big warm hugs & greetings to all. You may not read something here like helping & such, coz it's not my habit to let my right hand know what my left hand is doing. wehehe.. anyways, MAY WE ALL HAVE A WONDERFUL, STRESS-FREE HOLIDAY 2013.

- I'll start first with my family. I really wanna win this planner for my younger sister. Since she's still a high school student, she can't afford to spend lots of money to get one. By giving this to her, I can make one person joyful this season. As a daughter to my parents, honoring and obeying them continuously. Plus spending quality time with them. Now, with other people. A simple smile to strangers or people you don't know (it might brighten up their day or change their mood). Reaching out my helping hand to the typhoon victims and less fortunate ones. Quality time with friends. The most important one: To remind everyone about the real meaning of Christmas, the birth of Jesus Christ on this world. How God loves us so much that he gave His only begotten son to save us. Let them know that there's hope despite of all the problems that each and everyone face. Christmas is not just about gifts, food and parties (don't get me wrong, I enjoy these things especially during this time, it's already given) but more on passing on to others God's unconditional love, being a blessing to others. For me, my mentality is everyday's Christmas so we shouldn't just put extra effort during this season or certain month but we should practice this as a lifestyle. :)

2) Tell me how you'll be sharing the joy this Christmas Season.
I had my first job after graduation last week and I think I have the best gift ever, including my family and the safety of some of my relatives and friends living in Leyte. Since I only have the simplest yet fulfilling things in my life today, I guess I can't give much more than "MALASAKIT". No parties and other celebrations. Everything was given to the victims of Typhoon. This is the cheapest yet the greatest thing I could share plus offering prayer to anyone and everyone in the world, most specially in this certain time.

ReplyDeleteSmiles. I, together with my family will be giving away free smiles. Like every other year, my family will prepare a small get-together for the community's children: food, parlor games and giveaways. And this, this is how I'll be sharing the joy this Christmas Season - by being that bridge that connects hearts of little children to a place of happiness, even just for a few hours, even for only a few fleeting moments. It may not mean much to others but to me, my family and especially to those kids we'll be helping, I know it'd mean much. For all we know it can mean the world.
After all, the Christmas season is about smiles, right? Giving, receiving, and sharing smiles :)

1.) I will love to win the Starbucks Philippines planner!! Been wanting to have a SB Planner for years! Sad to say that we don't have starbucks in our province, so I can't collect all the stickers! I love the pink one for it gives my heart a thump whenever I see that color! Lovely, isn't it?? :)
ReplyDelete2.) Fisrt, by giving glory to our Lord. I will do my best to prepare for our Pasalamat to be able to give him the best praises by singing, (yes I am a choir member). :) Second, is by spreading love to my family, I still have no work so I will give my all (even if it means to be their yaya, cook or runner haha!) Time is really short so I want them to know how much I love all of them by my own simple ways. <3 Lastly, with all my will, I want to help those people who needed it. Giving with your heart in it will give joy to those people. :)

Since it's Christmas Season the best way to share joy is by being generous to others. Giving a part of my salary bonus and 13th month pay to the victims greatly affected by Yolanda is my way of lending a hand. I would really love to win the Philippines planner. We're excitedly awaiting for second child, who is due to come anytime now, and the planner would greatly help me with scheduling and planning our household activities.
ReplyDeleteAs for spreading the joy this Christmas, since my family is the host of this year's family reunion, and we are a big family, we have decided to donate half of our Christmas party/family reunion's budget to help in the relief efforts of Typhoon Yolanda. We're hoping that this would somehow help provide for noche buena to some of the families there.

1) I would love to win the Starbucks Philippines planner. With so much negativity going on in our country, the best thing we can do is to keep our Pinoy Pride up. Wherever I go, I will carry my Pinoy Pride with me if I win this planner. I can flash it as a bold statement that problems may beset my country but my love for the motherland will not waver.
ReplyDelete2) I would spread the joy this Christmas by giving free sandwiches to those who have to work on Christmas day. These people are making a major sacrifice of not being with their families during one of the highlights of the year just to make a living. I would like to let them feel the spirit of Christmas and honor them for their dedication with a simple token that is both nourishing for the body and spirit. Sandwiches are easy to prepare but a gesture like this can go a long way.

ReplyDeleteI'll be hosting our family reunion/Christmas party this year. Am also preparing games and gifts for the kiddos and adults alike. Apart from that, my group and I will be holding a Christmas party for the Yolanda survivors in one of the DSWD homes here in Metro Manila. I'll be sharing the joy this Christmas by giving gifts ( toys, storybooks and/or relief goods ) to children/family affected by Typhoon Yolanda. I know it's not that much but I hope it'll make someone smile and feel ok , that would really make me smile, feel happy and be proud of something I've done.

1. The Philippine Starbucks Planner! :) I've been collecting SB planners since 2009. (A friend influenced me! LOL.) Also, it would be nice to own something so gorgeous and so coveted by many. :)(No need for bragging rights here, I just want to own something beautiful -- my gift to myself! :))
ReplyDelete2. I will be sharing the joy this Christmas season by donating money to the Red Cross. And if ever I get lucky and win the planner, then I don't need to buy SB beverages just to complete those 18 stickers. :)(to date, I have 6 stickers; 12 more stickers to go! :)) The money I've saved will go to our gift-giving fund. My family gives Christmas gifts to the garbage collectors and street sweepers here in our area. This is our little way of sharing love and joy this season.

ReplyDelete-- I choose the Philippines planner, Will be giving it to my Mom because she has a new work now meaning new boss. She needs to be spot on with all the meetings and such so this planner will be very useful for her, so please be my santa this 2013 ^^
2) Tell me how you'll be sharing the joy this Christmas Season.
-- First off will be celebrating it with the whole family, Since I don't have work right now so the gift that I will be sharing to them this Christmas is the Video Presentation I made from all the gatherings this year that we all attended compiled it into a video that we could watch this Noche Buena. It's fun to reminisce things that happened with the whole family I know that somehow I'll make them laugh at some point on the video. Prepared little things for my inaanak's something personalize, Because there ninang is at a tight budget but I think they will still like it because they love me that much hahaha
-- A simple gesture of telling everyone how much you care and love them is not only done during Christmas season but as much as possible everyday If you can. A HUG is sometimes more appreciated than any other Gift so I'm not really shy hugging anyone I cared about. hahaha
-- Since I don't have work monetary help to the victims of #Yolanda is kinda hard for me what I did donate was old clothes and since GLOBE allowed us to donate our points I did that too, I hope somehow it help that somehow I put a smile on their faces. Donated toys at Jollibee that I think could make a child smile when they received it. If I could HUG all of them I would, If only I could make them all smile I would. But for now the best thing I could share with them is that I will be praying for them, those who lost their family members and those who survive that they stay strong and that everything will be alright soon.

1. I would choose the Singapore planner because i want to have unique planner and be different. Plus I love the leather concept
ReplyDelete2. I'll be sharing joy for Christmas by simply giving away helpful needs to children like school supplies, donating to Yolanda victims and feeding street children here in our area. By that we would realize that material things are not important. By simply doing the acts above I can share joy and happiness to other people because they can see my sincerity and how a teen like me can help others. There's no replacement for the fulfillment that sharing would give to us. It is like a pool of joy. Merry Christmas everyone!
