Staycation Files : Acacia Hotel in Alabang

A few months back, after my full day Pasta Class at Global Academy, Paul and I headed down South for yet another weekend staycation. I don't know why but I always get excited whenever the chance to visit Alabang comes around. I guess, it's because of the numerous restaurants that I've been wanting to try and my list keeps getting longer as I only get to visit Alabang at least once a year. So excited was I that I immediately sent fellow Jane an email to ask for her foodie recommendations. She was so nice that she sent me a very comprehensive one making me all the more excited for that particular weekend.

The beauty of staycations is that you get to unwind and relax without killing yourself with a long car/boat/plane ride. Acacia Hotel is a homegrown five star luxury hotel situated right at the heart of busy Alabang. It is indeed strategically located making it so accessible to nearby malls, a weekend market and a number of restaurants and coffee shop. We got to the hotel late in the afternoon and were quickly ushered up to our Junior Suite room.

The room's size was pretty average. Smaller than the usual Junior Suite but it was indeed complete with all the essential items. I also noticed that there were a lot of electrical plugs available allowing us to easily power up all our gadgets.

Look! Welcome Fruit Platter! Sweet!

Our king size bed was very comfortable and it actually reminds me of our bed at the Swissotel Stamford Hotel in Singapore. We definitely slept so soundly that evening.

Paul loved our bed even more upon noticing that it faces the 40" LCD TV. He just loves watching TV and would watch his favorite shows until he falls asleep.

Our bathroom was also very spacious and it would have been perfect had they thought of installing a bidet. This is really hygiene 101, dear hotel operators.

We were also given a complete set of toiletries too! Cool beans!

After resting for a while, we headed down to Acaci to have our dinner. I will give you a more detailed review on Acacia Hotel's in-house restaurant in my next entry. This was where we had both dinner and breakfast the next day. Sadly, I wasn't able to tick anything off from Jane's list as we were both so lazy to head out to explore Alabang save for that quick trip to the supermarket the next day.

We also made sure to have an early dinner as we both wanted to go for a night swim. The pool was very narrow but it was okay for us. What we loved though was the jacuzzi (not seen here) where we stayed for quite some time. Good thing we had the entire jacuzzi to ourselves. Yay! I also liked it that there's always a lifeguard on duty too.

As we headed back to our room, we were surprised to see a plate of baked macaroons waiting for us. I love hotels with turn-down services and most especially those that leaves sweet surprises at night.

Acacia Hotel is perfect for those who wants a quick weekend getaway without going too far. They have a free shuttle service also where they can take you anywhere around Alabang. There's also a gym which, for me, still needs a bit of an improvement. Over-all, we had a great time at Acacia Hotel and truly appreciated the warm smiles, accommodating service and the relaxing atmosphere.

Acacia Hotel is located at 5400 East Asia Drive corner Commerce Avenue, Filinvest Corporate City, Alabang, Muntinlupa City. Call them at 720-2000 or visit their website at www.acaciahotelsmanila.com.
