My birthday is coming in a few more days so allow me to talk about one of my favorite food items... Chicken Wings . Who doesn't love chicken wings? Most especially when it's the kind that comes with not one, not two but 15 dips and dry rubs! I first encountered Wingzone back in Singapore where I would visit their Bugis+ branch simply to have their Mozzarella Sticks. This was one of my incentives whenever I go to the doctor at Raffles Hospital. For the past few trips back home, Paul and I would purposely leave our schedules open as we would like to allot most, if not all, of our time to family. You see, we normally stay for a week at most and given that we don't really get to fly home on a monthly basis, we would make it a point to bond with our family and bestest friends whenever we can. Friends who live in Quezon City has been telling me about this neighborhood store that sells delicious fried chicken wings and drumsticks. It's a pretty small store that they normally would just drop by on their way home from work to take away a box of freshly cooked chicken for their family to enjoy. Since my first visit to Charlie's almost two years ago, I have been a frequent visitor of their Pasig branch where I have discovered a number of favorites aside from their Black Angus burger and Original Buffalo Wings. Through regular visits, I've tried their Strawberry milkshake, Cheese steak sandwich and a lot more. After reading Jane's Top 10 Buffalo Wings list , I suddenly found myself craving for a basket of mouth-watering crunchy chicken wings coated to perfection with sauce that's not too spicy nor not too sweet. It was one Sunday morning when we thought of inviting two of Paul's siblings to join us for lunch at Carol's Texan 5 which was conveniently located just a couple of minutes away from my in-law's place. It was our first day in Singapore and after spending the entire afternoon resting at our hotel , Paul and I decided to grab an early dinner nearby. Luckily, The Swissotel Stamford was perfectly located near the Esplanade , which is a durian-shaped theater/convention center, right at the heart of Singapore's CBD. In fact, it only took us less than 10 minutes to leisurely walk from our hotel to The Esplanade. It was very accessible indeed. We went around The Esplanade and watched a live free concert happening at the activity hall. It has been two years since our last visit to the Land of Smiles a.k.a. Bangkok and one thing that why we miss it so much is because of their delicious food. Every meal was an adventure as we try their local favorites such as the Pad Thai, Green Curry, Pomelo Salad and of course the Thai Iced Tea. I think we must have had Pad Thai in almost every single meal during our three days, two nights stay. After work, one week day, Paul and I found ourselves at My Thai , the newest Thai restaurant along Wilson street in San Juan .
