Mother's Crepe & Cafe in SM Mall of Asia

Image
Summer is here! I can't believe it's already March which means we're almost done with the 1st quarter of 2013. Time is running on high speed, don't you think? Anyway, with the heat getting to be more intense outside, all the more I crave for cold desserts. Ice cream, yogurt and our ever-popular halo-halo. Just the thought of it is making me miss Manila more and more. *sigh* Aside from my dessert bar staples such as creme brulee and a scoop of ice cream, I am also a big fan of crepes. I tell you, I can have crepes at anytime of the day. The savory ones for breakfast, lunch or dinner and the sweet fruity ones in between. This is also why my family and I frequent our neighborhood creperie a whole lot ever since it opened its doors to the public. Let's just say, that's our way of giving our all out support in hopes that it'll be there to serve us forever and ever. During one of our not-so-frequent trips to the SM Mall of Asia , Paul, Joan (a.k.a. Mrs. Fo...

When Cirque du Soleil comes to town: Varekai in Manila

Image
I can still remember the first time I went to watch a circus act, I was very young then ... too young that I remembered buying a coloring book as a souvenir. Together with my parents and my little sister Pan, we trooped all the way to Araneta Coliseum excited to watch our first local circus show. The place was packed and I remember that we were lucky to get good seats. Good enough for us to see the performers up close. I was enthralled by the flexibility of those doing the trapeze and I held my breath and squeezed my Papa's hand as we watch from one heart-stopping act to the other. It had been more than a decade since but that amazing experience stayed with me forever. Fast forward to the present and I found myself on the way to Quirino Grandstand with Paul last Saturday night as we were both excited to watch Cirque du Soleil's Varekai . It has been a long time since we've watched a circus act and we honestly had no idea what to expect. The only thing we both know is th...

It's so Fluffy!!! I love Despicable Me

Image
I just had two major goals for the long week...first was to get a full body massage with my sister which we did last Saturday at The Spa and second was to watch Despicable Me . I saw the trailer but initially it didn't appealed to me thinking it will be all about villains and lots of fighting in animation involved. It wasn't until my sister showed me the trailer once again when I fell in love with the cute little girl who went gaga over a stuffed unicorn. We agreed to watch it last Sunday and initially I was hesitant to buy the ticket as the 3D version in Greenhills was priced at P320 . I want to watch the movie but to pay three times more than the average ticket cost..I paused a bit and even considered backing out. Finally after 5 minutes worth of non-stop prodding from my sister, there we were in front of the movie counter buying three 3D tickets to watch Despicable Me . This ticket came with a bag of popcorn and your choice of drink. Honestly, I hope they would make ...

Falling in love for the Third Time : Orchard Road

Image
If there's one road that would undoubtedly be mentioned when discussions about traveling to Singapore arises, it would be... Orchard Road . This is Singapore's biggest shopping and entertaining district where malls after malls line up the street and a lot of activities are happening here and there. Just imagine seeing a huge Louis Vuitton store to your left and a glamorous outlet of Cartier to your right. If Becky Bloomwood would find herself in Singapore and right at the heart of Orchard Road, she would probably feel like she's in retail heaven! Getting to Orchard Road Traveling around Singapore is a breeze! Getting to Orchard Road may be done either via bus, MRT or taxi. There's actually an MRT station that brings you directly to Orchard Road and from the there you can choose which mall you would like to visit first as almost every mall in this road is connected via the underground walkway. Talk about convenience to the highest level! Shop until you drop Years ago, ...
