So I had a lot of firsts last week --  -- had my first sponsored event for my brand, HerStyleAsia  which was for the Panasonic Manila Fashion Festival  -- my first fashion show experience and I got to sit at the front row 3 out of 4 days!  -- my first nights out since I gave birth to my twins -- my first few sips of alcohol since 2016 (and I'm not gonna lie.. it felt so so so good!) In every country, there is a particular district that I have grown fond of. There's Tsim Sha Tsui in Hong Kong and Raffles City in Singapore. As a result, I would tend to book hotels within these areas as I find myself most comfortable and at ease when staying in these places. Both districts are considered highly commercial areas as they are filled with lots of shops and restaurants making it so convenient for Paul and I to eat, shop and walk around at any given time of the day. A few months ago, I was privileged enough to be invited by Neutrogena Philippines to be one of their brand ambassadors for their Fine Fairness line. For a day, I found myself sitting with girls who I admire not only for their beauty but for the things that they’ve achieved in their respective fields as well. “Ang puti mo!” (You're so fair!) This is the common reaction that I would hear from relatives and friends of my parents whenever they see me. Growing up, I would always take this comment negatively and would strive my best to get a tan. From the daily swimming lessons to the frequent walks under the sun, I would try in vain to get a darker skin color. Sadly, my skin would just turn pink and in no time, I’d be back to my same light-colored skin. As compared to my mom and sister, I have the simplest facial routine too. Back in college, it would just be regular washing using a facial wash and warm water. No moisturizers, no toners, no creams. I was just 18 then and my skin was luckily very cooperative given the lack of attention that I give to it. That has all changed when I turned 20. I began to notice tiny brown freckles forming around my cheeks and my skin began to become oily especially along the T-zone. If there's one piece of vanity bone that I may have in my body, I would say it would be paying extra attention to my hair. As a child, my mom would take us to, what I believe is one of the best salons in town , to have our regular haircut. There I enjoy every minute as I love the scent of their shampoo and the relaxing feeling that I get whenever my hair stylist would carefully scrub, wash and rinse my hair. Later on, we would leave it to her to trim my long black hair into something she feels a grade schooler should sport. Something manageable yet attractive, my mom would request. As I grow up, I learned to become more experimental with my hair. Dyeing it into different shades of brown and sometimes even bordering to red. I attempted to even curl my hair but got tired of if in the long run. After the gloomy skies and heartache over yesterday's tragic incident , we wake up this morning with a happier news. A new Miss Universe has been proclaimed and this is no other than Ms. Mexico, Jimena Rosete !!! Our very own Venus Raj did well to as she'll be coming home with the 4th runner up title besting more than 80 other contestants! Congratulations!!! :)

I hardly can remember my first haircut experience but I sure know where it was done. My mom has been a loyal customer of Piandre Greenhills since we were small. She entrusted us to her favorite stylist Nenette to create a manageable, kid-friendly hairstyle in every visit. One visit we had a bob cut while on a another we were given bangs, what I remember though was the experience. How I enjoyed having my hair shampooed as I love the scent of their shampoo and conditioner, down to the very personal service that Nenette would give us. July was a crazy month for me, it was time for our 2010 Strategic Planning and this entailed spending long hours brainstorming, more hours getting the plans approved and at least two entire weekends spent to prepare for the actual presentation. I didn't realized how bad my stress level was until a colleague asked me over lunch how come I look tired. I just told her that I have a lot of things on my plate right now but she continued by telling me that this was actually the first time she saw me this stressed out. Oh no...the last thing I want is to let stress overcome me. Yipes! Not good at all...
