Travel in Style : Conservo Luggage Covers

Image
It's no secret that both Paul and I have been bitten by the travel bug. While our traveling has very much toned down since we moved to the Lion City, I'm just glad that we somehow would still sneak in a short trip here and there when given the opportunity. I guess we have been traveling so often that we have mastered the art of packing and unpacking in the faster way possible. Of course, it has also been established that I am no light packer so whatever happens, I really have to bring my trusty hand carry luggage with me. At least, that gives me 7kg allowance to pack all my clothes for the weekend no to mention my laptop, chargers and a book to read on board. For the longest time, only I have a carry-on luggage while Paul would pack all his extra clothes, camera and on board items in a backpack. It was only recently that we finally got a second hand carry luggage. It's a black hard case cabin-sized luggage that's pretty lightweight yet sturdy enough to withstand th...

Taste Central : Online Shopping at its Finest

Image
It's no secret how much Paul and I loves...as in LOVESSS Deal Grocer . It's the only deal site that we make sure to visit on a weekly basis. Online shopping is no joke after all. I don't shop that much and I really am extra cautious especially when I'm using my credit card to pay. The last thing I want is to fall victim to credit card frauds. That's why we stay loyal only to websites that we trust. A few weeks ago, as we were browsing through the DG site , we noticed that whenever we click on any of their food or home products, we get directed to a whole new website. Initially we thought it was a mistake but as we looked closely at the new page, it says : The Official Retail Partner of Deal Grocer .  The website is called Taste Central and it goes beyond offering price offs for restaurants or travel deals, it gives you a whole new shopping experience as you can buy home, food and fashion items with just a few clicks! It's perfect for people like me who...

Arm Candy: Jean & Rosz Charity Bracelets

Image
If there's anything that I'm fashionably attracted to, then it would be on accessories . I'm a firm believer that a piece of jewelry or accessory can add more personality to your everyday wear. As such, my jewelry staples includes a good piece of watch and my heart and locket white gold bracelet that I've been wearing since my High School graduation. While surfing the internet, I visited one of my favorite accessory brand Jean and Rosz and checked out what are the new items they have available. It was then that I saw the Charity Bracelets. For only Php 150 per set of 4 leather bracelets , Jean & Rosz will donate the sales proceeds to their partner charity institution. There are about 9 colors to choose from and believe me, I had a hard time choosing my 1st four colors! Thus I let my ever-stylish friend Jean decide for me. Here's what she came up with.

Comfort meets Fashion with Yosi Samra Ballet Flats

Image
I've always been a flip-flop loving girl. My weekend get-up consists of my comfy denim shorts, cotton shirt and my favorite pair of flipflops. I love heading to the mall or my favorite weekend market in this attire. Rarely do I get to wear heels during the weekend as I try to make my feet and lower back rest as wearing heels from Mondays to Fridays can really put a strain on them. In fact, I also keep a pair of flip-flops in my office cabinet just in case my feet are loudly calling out for help. Most of the time though, as comfy as my flipflops can be, I know I always have to keep a proper look and flipflops is totally a no-no when trying to look professional in the office. How I wish there are really nice flats that goes well with my dressy top or skinny cut jeans. Then came a tiny black bag that was delivered to my doorstep. In front reads the name Yosi Samra and after much research, I found out that it's the name of a very talented shoe designer who has created the...

Agnes B. Cafe at the Eslite Mall in Taipei.

Image
After visiting the Taipei 101 , which is the second tallest tower in the world, little did I know that we were about to have a fashionable afternoon tea. It was starting to drizzle and with our legs starting to cramp up from too much walking, we decided to just look for a coffee shop at the nearby Eslite Mall . Arriving at the ground floor, my sister saw a cozy looking coffee shop and directed us there. It was an Agnes B. Cafe , one that Paul and I have been wanting to try out every time we're in Hong Kong . I'm so happy that Taiwan has this as well. We probably all know Agnes B. for her pretty bags and dresses but this brand is also starting to gain popularity in the cafe scene. I love the sleek white and black interiors. Can you see how inviting the pastry shelf was? It really did pulled my sister and I closer until we couldn't resist leaving without ordering. Paul simply wanted a cup of coffee while my sister and I couldn't stop starting at the sandwiches...

Off for the Holidays!

Image
Exactly two months after I bid everyone goodbye for a two-week long vacation , we're off again for a short vacation this time to the land of milk teas, fishball soup and stinky tofu. It will be an amazing food trip for the next few days and boy I can't wait! Summer is finally here and while my trusty weather app assures me that Taiwan will be slightly colder than Manila, I'm going prepared with bottles of Beach Hut Sunblock to protect my face and body. No way am I exposing myself to the nasty UV rays which might give me skin cancer in the future. No no no way!!! While I prefer lathering on fragrance-free lotions as my nose is pretty sensitive to excessively strong scents, Beach Hut' s floral scent is pretty ok for me. It's not sticky or greasy which is normally what I get with sunblocks with high SPF levels. Beach Hut's newest sunblock has SPF 100 that totally beats our old sunblock by 30 SPF levels. We're ready to walk under the sun as we visit va...

Retail Finds: Golla Laptop Bag

Image
If there would be anything in this world that I can't live without I'd obviously say it would be my laptop . For years, I've grown dependent on my home computer where I would spend hours blogging, surfing the net, creating trip itineraries, typing compositions for school and a lot more. In fact, my work is very computer dependent too where I would have to regularly check my mail in Microsoft Outlook and since the digital age has made work more efficient and paper-less, majority of our correspondence are done via email and reports sent using the programs of Microsoft Office. At home, my nightly routine is that I would open my handy-dandy laptop the moment I get home from work to write an entry in this blog . This had, in fact, became part of my packing list on my recent trip to the US. It's what Paul and I used to chat with my family and to update ourselves with what's happening in Manila while we're away. I believe that behind an efficient laptop should be ...

Travel Essentials: Travel safe with Pacsafe

Image
It's no secret that Paul and I love to travel. At the same time, we have been blessed with wonderful opportunities that have enabled us to travel at least once per quarter since we got married. It all began with our two weeks trip to Singapore and Malaysia for our honeymoon followed by a quick visit to the happiest place in Asia a.k.a. Hong Kong Disneyland and just recently, we went out of Asia and explored the west as we traveled to California, USA . As we travel, we make sure that safety is always on our side . We pray, we plan and we pack well in order to ensure that we keep our valuables close and away from the wandering eyes of snatchers. Nothing can destroy a trip more than losing your passport, money and clothes. Not only will it waste you time but it will surely take the fun away from what was supposed to be a memorable traveling experience. As we were preparing for our recent 2-week long vacation, we made sure that we were equipped with the right bags and luggage t...

Image
September is always a fun month here at Frannywanny.com simply because this blog is turning a year older again! I can't believe it has been 3 years since I first wrote about my Angel's Kitchen experience and the rest continues to follow. From then on, I've visited more than 200 restaurants here and abroad, launched more than a dozen contests and met a number of great friends and readers. For this, I am very very thankful. :) To share my blessings and happiness to everyone, I am pleased to announce the winners of the recently concluded blog contest featuring the up and coming fashion bloggers Jean and Rosz ! We ran a contest for 3 whole weeks asking my dear readers this simple question: "Who's your favorite fashion icon and is there a particular fashion trend that you love?" We got a lot of amazing answers and I left the judging to Jean and Rosz who carefully went over each entry before finally choosing the winners! Congratulations to the following ...

Bloggers in the Limelight: Jean and Rosz

Image
A blogger is also a blog-hopper. I do this every single day where in I pop in and out of my fellow blogger's site updating myself on their food adventures, fashion and beauty finds and basically their day-to-day life. While most of the ones listed in my browser's bookmark tab consists that of fellow food and travel bloggers website, one continues to stand out as this is actually the only fashion blog that I regularly follow. Meet Jean and Rosz . I am a fan of accessories and I love browsing through photos of the hippest and cutest bracelets, necklaces and cocktail rings against their crisp white background. I love how they would post magazine photos of celebrities wearing the latest accessories and guess what, they actually have these available for sale! They boasts to be the first blog on trend spotting and I'd have to save they are pretty good at it. It surely is amazing that these two girls really have to nose and eyes for the latest trends. I actually had the pr...
