Themed Buffet Nights at J65, Hotel Jen Tanglin

Image
It's no secret how much I love buffets! I guess every foodie does. It's the perfect way to dine with a big group of friends and everyone will somehow be able to find the dishes that they love. Also, it's the perfect opportunity to fill your tummy with the best and yummiest things in life. So, when Paul and I were invited to try J65 's themed buffet nights, I quickly gave a resounding YES! From now until the 25th of May 2017 , diners of J65 will be able to try a wide-variety of specialty dishes based on different themes assigned to a specific day: Sundays/Mondays: International Buffet Tuesdays: Colours of Asia (local specialties) Wednesdays: Lobster Rock n Roll Thursdays: Live Barbecue Fridays/Saturdays: Seafood Mania  We love seafood so we went on a Saturday to indulge. In true Hotel Jen 's fashion, one thing that I love about the buffet spread is how interactive most stations are. There are several local dishes where you can unleash your inner chef an...

Prawntastic Dinner at Makan@Jen in Hotel Jen Orchardgateway

Image
Chef Lee Hoong Wan of Hotel Jen Orchardgateway did it again!  Remember that time when I got to taste his delicious Laksa Fried Rice  and promised to myself that I need to visit Hotel Jen Orchardgateway to have more? Well, I kept my promise and so, to celebrate our 13th year anniversary as a couple, Paul and I agreed to have our dinner date at Hotel Jen Orchardgateway's restaurant Makan@Jen . Call it perfect timing but the restaurant was holding a two month long Ultimate Prawn Party  and we couldn't be happier as we love seafood and crustaceans the most. Oh, I can feel my mouth water by just thinking about it. From the 3rd of October till the 1st of December , patrons of Makan@Jen can indulge in a wide array of prawn-filled dishes from the mouthwatering Salted Egg Prawns to the very comforting Prawn Noodle Soup and more. Mind you, I'm not talking about your average prawns that you get to see in the market everyday. These are specially imported prawns such as the T...

Shangri-la Hotel and Resorts launch The Table -- Eat. Indulge. Earn Points. Repeat.

Image
How often do you eat out? If you're like us who goes out every weekend, that would mean that we visit an average of 4 restaurants a week or 12 restaurants a month. Don't you wish that with every time you dine out, you get rewarded too? Well, Shangri-la Hotel and Resorts  heard our wish and they're finally making it come true. A month ago, I was invited to attend the media launch of The Table  -- a food and beverage loyalty program that's applicable across all Shangri-la Hotels in the region (or maybe in the world). What sets this loyalty program apart from all others is the fact that every member can earn points regardless if they dine at any F&B outlet in Shangri-la, Hotel Jen, Traders or Kerry Hotels in the world. That gives you so much flexibility especially if you're the type who loves to travel and eat. As you earn points, you can easily redeem rewards too without having to wait for any vouchers to be sent to you. This was one thing that I love as I...

Uniquely Singapore dinner at Ah Hoi's Kitchen, Hotel Jen Singapore

Image
I guess I've mentioned quite a lot of times before how happy it makes me when friends come to visit. Much more when they do come to visit and make time for me and Paul! Being travelers ourselves, we know how crazy one's trip itinerary can be so we don't normally demand people to meet up with us as we know they'd rather spend those hours exploring beautiful Singapore. So, when friends would message us and ask us if we're free to meet up for a meal, we'd make it a point to say yes and would go through great lengths to ensure that they'll indeed have a good meal. It's the least that we can do for their thoughtfulness and love, right? So, when my favorite foodie friends Dedet and Cyrene flew to Singapore over the weekend, we agreed to meet up for dinner. Dedet's only request was to have something uniquely Singaporean. I don't know why but the first thing that came to mind was Ah Hoi's Kitchen , our go-to place for delicious crabs and their mo...

12 at 12 Value Set Lunch at Ah Hoi's Kitchen, Singapore

Image
My dear readers probably know by now how big a fan I am of discounts and 1-for-1s. Of course, this is truly the best way to dine out as we get to try more dishes for a fraction of the price. After all, I've come to accept the hard truth that money doesn't grow on trees so being hardworking, frugal and smart about saving and spending money is truly the way to go. Don't get me wrong, I would still indulge and splurge once in a while but nonetheless, I think real hard before going for it. So, I just heard about the latest lunch promotion that Hotel Jen Tanglin  recently launched. It's called 12 at 12 at Ah Hoi's Kitchen and this just got to be the best promotion that I've ever heard of! Imagine being able to have 12 different viands plus complimentary drink, soup and rice for only $12 nett! The promotion runs during lunch hour which is at 12 noon sharp. The best part is, for groups of 12, the 12th person gets a free meal!

Say hello to Hotel Jen, Singapore

Welcome to the new JENeration! I just love attending house parties. It's where you can just relax, enjoy the yummy food, mingle with new friends and catch up with the old ones too. I also love hosting small, intimate parties where I would have my closest friends over for dinner and some after dinner drinks or dessert. To be honest, I really get the thrill out of creating the menu and going over the logistics and planning more than anything. :) Recently, Paul and I attended one of the coolest house parties  that we've ever been to here in the Lion City. It's when Jen opened her doors and welcomed us with open arms. Who's Jen, you're probably wondering. Well, she's a professional hotelier who loves life, travel and the adventure of discovering new places . Sounds like someone whom I'll surely get along with, don't you think? Jen is just like you and me. Someone who's always on the go yet we always make sure that we're connected through tec...
