Bistroquet Pizza & Grill in Alexandra Retail Centre

Image
When our friend A came to Singapore for his regular business trip, we all cheered! Aside from the fact that we all love A (and his other half D) very much, his visit also gives the Normanton Kids the reason to eat out especially on a weeknight. You see, weeknights for us normally means heading to the gym after work, having home-cooked dinners or putting in more hours at work (yeah, we're all workaholics like that!) . Whenever A visits us, we make sure that we get to go out for a nice meal together. During his recent visit, we decided to check out Bistroquet Pizza & Grill  at Alexandra Retail Centre. This is because we got a 1-for-1 deal with the Entertainer App and the restaurant is located very close to home too. To be honest, I've seen Bistroquet since we moved to Singapore but never thought of giving it a try because the restaurant always seems empty whenever we pass by. That evening though, there were two big groups of students for dinner. While waiting for the o...

High Society Cafe at The Shoppes @ Marina Bay Sands

Image
To celebrate Valentine's Day, Paul and I booked an overnight staycation at Marina Mandarin Singapore . Anyway, let me tell you more about that in my next few posts. Allow me to skip and talk about the lunch that we had the day after Valentine's Day . Since we had a hearty breakfast at the hotel, lunch for us was at 2pm. We got two Groupon vouchers from cousin J for High Society Cafe at The Shoppes @ Marina Bay Sands so we decided to check the restaurant out since we were already in the area. To be honest, I had no idea where the restaurant was as it was only Paul and his cousins who went and ate there before. After walking for about 10 minutes, I spotted the restaurant. It's funny that I don't recall seeing this before perhaps it was overshadowed by the Cold Storage and The CD Shop beside it. The best landmark is to look for Cold Storage and Toast Box which is located across the restaurant.

Little Hiro : Hawaiian - Japanese BBQ & Grill in Bukit Timah

The day when Aloha meets Konichiwa.  Last Sunday, the NKids went out again for another food adventure and this time, our tummies brought us to the Bukit Timah area. The fastest way to get here is to take the MRT to Botanic Garden and as you go up from the station you'll see a number of interesting-looking restaurants perfect for a nice Sunday brunch. So far, we've tried to restaurants in this area and both were good and worth the trip . For this particular food trip, we went to try Little Hiro which is a relatively new burger restaurant owned by the same group who runs Island Creamery -- a local ice cream parlor serving Singaporean flavors. Condiment Party! Little Hiro has been on my list since the start of the year so I was just so happy when C suggested that we have lunch there. I love the very chic, beach-happy look of the restaurant's exterior. For some reason, I was reminded of the movie 50 First Dates. Mahalo! I have to say that the menu was extensi...
