Back at Yentafo Kruengsonge at Kallang Wave Mall

It has been raining on-off for the past weeks here in the Lion City and seriously, it has been a challenge to pull myself up from bed as this is just the perfect time to curl in bed and sleep all day long. I really can’t wait for the weekend to come as I have big plans of hibernating for as long as I can. When it comes to rainy, cold weather, it’s also the perfect time to enjoy a bowl of delicious noodle soup. This then made me think about that dinner that Paul and I recently had at Yentafo Kruengsonge . It wasn’t my first time there as I’ve been to their Cathay Cineleisure outlet but this time, we went to check out their Kallang Wave Mall outlet, which I feel is much bigger and has better seating capacity as compared to the former one.

Yentafo Kruengsonge : Bangkok's Famous "Yen Ta Fo" Noodle House opens in Singapore

"Can you handle the heat?" It has been 8 long years since my last visit to Bangkok . If you ask me, I think it's about time to go back for a return visit given that Singapore is slightly closer to Bangkok as compared to flying out from Manila. Not only that, I'm sure there have been a lot of changes since our last trip and by that I'm pertaining to more restaurant and food places to discover. Here's making a mental note to plan for a quick weekend getaway to Bangkok sometime next year. Well, since I can't go to Bangkok just yet... let Bangkok come to me for now. I got a bit disoriented trying to locate the restaurant as it apparently took the place of Shokudo at the 2nd level of the cinema building. Yentafo Kruengsonge  is actually a very popular noodle house in Bangkok that specializes in yen ta fo noodle bowls which is a Thai noodle dish filled...

328 Katong Laksa in East Coast Road

Image
Now this is what I'd call a food trip !  Right after having kaya toast and cupcakes at Chin Mee Chin Confectionery , we literally hopped next next door to 328 Katong Laksa  as this has been one of the places friends have been recommending to us. Every time we'd tell someone that we haven't been to East Coast, the first thing they'd say is: " What?! But the laksa is the best there!" That said, we agreed not to pass up the chance to have that much raved about Laksa for this trip. To be honest, I rarely have Laksa simply because I always thought it was unbearably spicy. Sweating profusely while eating is not really something that I really like to do. Well, the restaurant has a nice air-conditioned area inside so at least they got that sweating problem covered. Now, we will have to see if the spice level of the Laksa is something we can manage. We got a small bowl of Laksa (S$5) to share. Look at that generous serving of shrimps, noodles, cockles, fish...
