Celebrated my birthday with Party Plate Philippines

Image
We're officially halfway through the year! I can't believe June flew by with just one blog post. My sincere apologies! My birthday month found me so busy with work that on nights when I have the time to relax and to blog, I would opt to just binge on Netflix to clear my mind before bedtime. Anyway, please don't forget to follow me on Instagram as I would regularly post my latest food discoveries there.  Let me share with you one of the highlights of my birthday celebration. As you know, this is the 2nd year that I celebrated my birthday at home as we are still battling the COVID19 virus but one good thing that happened before my birthday was that my parents and I got our full dose of vaccines and Paul just got his first dose recently so here's to getting all of us fully vaccinated in the coming weeks. Despite having to stay home for my birthday, I got to say that this year's celebration was made extra special as I was showered with lots of love and well wishes fro...

Summer Party Vibe with Greenwich Hawaiian Overload Pizza

Image
Recently, I was invited to a birthday party. Not mine but that of two ladies who are very known on TV. In fact, Yaya D subtly gasped when she found out where I was heading to that one afternoon in SM Megamall. It was to celebrate the birthdays of Yassi Pressman and Bela Padilla , two very prominent personalities on local TV today. Yaya D adores Bela Padilla who stars in her favorite TV series Ang Probinsyano . Trust me, ask her one thing and she can go on and on and on about that show. Haha! This party was hosted by Greenwich Pizza and just like any birthday party, we were in for a yummy treat! While waiting for the celebrants, we feasted on a buffet of party dishes such as tea sandwiches, nachos with dips...

Something new at Dolce Vita Restaurant, Singapore

Image
“Change is good” , they always say. While my OC-self tends to squirm at the thought of dealing with any change in my routine more so a change in my comfort zone, I can’t help but agree. With change, come new discoveries and opportunities, after all. I also believe that change helps us grow in life. We deal with new challenges; we conquer bigger obstacles which leads to a more fulfilling reward at the end of it all. We come out a winner after every change. So one big change happened to one of my favourite Italian restaurant here in the Lion City. Dolce Vita Restaurant 's head chef,  Chef Marco Manocchio , who has been with the restaurant since 2015 recently launched a new menu featuring some of his personal specialties. How's that for a good change? I was one of the lucky ones (thank you my lucky stars!) to be invited to try a simple repertoire of Chef Marco’s new dishes. Let me share them with you!

Doggie Day Out : Whole Pet Kitchen, San Juan

Image
My recent visit home to Manila was short but it was truly one of the best. I'm just so happy that I was able to try a number of new restaurants and those meals were shared with the people who matters the most to me. As they say, quality over quantity . Aside from my closest friends and family, I also took the time out to treat that special one that continues to bring so much joy to our family -- meet our lovable doggie named Scottie ! One morning, Pan and I decided to take Scottie out for a ride and for a quick snack somewhere in the neighborhood. Pan discovered Whole Pet Kitchen  where she and Mommy brought Scottie to have some lasagna a couple of weeks back. It's a small pet specialty cafe that offers hot meals and pastries for the dogs and their owners alike. I believe it's the 1st one in the country and I'm so glad that it's not so far from home as Scottie can get so restless in the car. I love how cozy the whole place was however I wish the floor tiles were...

Apartment 1B Gourmet Comfort Food at One Rockwell

Image
On my last day at work, I decided that I will do away with the tearful goodbyes and heartbreaking hugs by leaving...as subtly as possible. Don't get me wrong, I love Summit Media and most especially the talented people that's part of it but I really do not want and can't stand sad goodbyes. Thus, after a two-hour morning meeting with the bosses, I excitedly invited my team for what could possibly be our last lunch out together...at the moment. We initially couldn't decide where to go so I took matters into my own hands (literally!) and drove the team to Rockwell Center . Once there, we played a little eenie-mini-miney-moe and chose the restaurant that could offer us a good parking space (hehe!) . Finally, we went for Apartment 1B ! Hooray! I've dined at the Salcedo Village branch before and loved it! It has been years since and I thought it would be nice to go back and to visit their One Rockwell branch this time. We got there during lunch time and were prett...

Angel's Pizza, Pasta, Combo: Holiday Family Package

Image
Today I started my 14-day Nestle Fitnesse Challenge and so far I think I'm doing quite well considering the fact that I had to battle with temptation brought about by our homemade fried rice, Frito-Lay chips and soda being offered to me earlier today. I was surprised that the Nestle Fitnesse cereal actually tastes good! I'll be having this for 13 more days! Meanwhile, allow me to share with you what my family and I had for dinner a few weeks ago. On nights when our cook runs out of dishes to prepare and Mommy just wants to relax and enjoy the meal, we rely on take outs and food deliveries. One Friday evening, Angel's Pizza, Pasta and Combo sent us one of their newest Holiday Bundle Packages . We got Bundle 3 (Php. 750) which is good for 8 pax. Bundle 3 comes with (1) Big Family Meaty BBQ Pizza which had generous cuts making it quite filling  after enjoying just one slice. The crust was chewy and quite good. Sadly though, I'm not a a big fan of pepperoni so I ha...

Lasagna on my Pizza?

Image
When I first saw the banner promoting Pizza Hut's newest product, I couldn't believe my eyes. Viva Lasagna , was written in huge bold letters and underneath is a photo of a giant pizza. "Talk about Carbo-load" , I said to myself. Who would have thought that a week after, I would get invited to the media launch for the same product. Seated inside Pizza Hut Bistro , my colleagues and I chatted while waiting for our pizza to be served. We wondered how on earth can they combine a pizza and a pasta without making a single slice too much for a meal's consumption. Finally, our Viva Lasagna (Php. 475) pizza has arrived and just by looking at it, it's surely the type of pizza that can be shared by a group of 5 or more. Look at how big it is! that's Cheers, Yummy Magazine's newest editor, looking at the Viva Lasagna pizza Taking a closer look, I first noticed that the crust is not too thick or too thin, this is what makes the Viva pizza different. So how did t...
