....and we're off again!  After coming back from our amazing 11-day Holiday break in Manila, we're currently back at Changi Airport  ready to go on a quick weekend trip...back to Manila! We're a day away from Achi Marie's BIG day and boy, am I so excited. Let's face it. Travelling can really be tiring. The whole process of packing, unpacking, waiting, boarding, flying and recovering and really take a toll on our body but the whole experience of travelling, I believe, makes it all worth it. For the longest time, I've never been the type who would go to the airport early. Often times, I'd be the last to check-in and would run around like a headless chicken in order to get to the boarding gate on time. I guess, it's because I just hate sitting around while waiting for the boarding gate to open to I would try to get there with the least waiting time possible. Two months ago, Paul and I had one of the best trips of our married life as we went to our dream destination -- Tokyo, Japan ! After months of planning and trying hard not to get so excited so as not to jinx it, the day finally came for us to head to the airport and to get on our Singapore Airlines flight that will take us to the Land of the Rising Sun. Since we wanted to maximize on our travel time, we opted to take the 11PM flight so we'll arrive in Japan at 8AM local time. Good idea, huh? As you all know, we love staying at airport lounges while waiting for our turn to board the plane. Since our plane is flying out of Changi Airport's Terminal 3 this time, we went to SATS Premier Lounge  to grab a meal since we didn't had time to have dinner at home and to relax before our long evening flight. I'm a fan of SATS Premier Lounges if you remember me talking about this in my previous entries , where I would frequent the one in Terminal 2 every time I fly home to Man...

It's no big secret how much I love to travel and to fly home to Manila. However, the only thing that I just dislike is the wait that you normally have to endure at least 2 hours before your flight plus the countless hours you have to bear in the plane too. Good if you're taking a premium-class airline that offers in-flight entertainment, even better if they got WiFi internet and of course, good food. However, what if you're flying budget? I've been flying so often for  past 3 years that I know all the travel routines by heart. Luckily, I was able to gain access to a wide network of airport lounges all over the world and I have to say that this has really changed my perspective about flying and most of all, waiting. I really appreciate being able to grab a bite or even a drink while doing last minute work on my laptop in a more comfortable environment. Gone are the days when I would have to go hunt for a Starbucks Coffee or any airport cafe with an empty table for me...

You may have noticed that I've been flying in and out of Manila quite often these past few weeks. With my sister's wedding and a couple of family stuff that I have to attend to, I found myself being a frequent visitor of both Changi Airport and our very own Ninoy Aquino International Airport . Not that I want to play favorites but it's not hard to favor Terminal 3 over the other 2. First of all, it's newer (and way cleaner) and secondly, it has a lot more dining options that makes the waiting time much more bearable. As much as I love flying home, I have to admit that I really dislike waiting. While Manila is simply a quick 3 hour and 10 minute flight from Singapore, you also have to factor in the time you have to allot for check-in, immigration checks, luggage scans (oh gosh!) and getting to your boarding gate on time only to find out your flight will be delayed. One of the things that I love about traveling is being able to check out the airport lounges while waiting to board. I tell you, having the access to airport lounges is something I'm extremely thankful about as I just hate waiting and this is the perfect remedy for impatient travelers like me. For this trip, I chanced upon SATS Premier Lounge in Terminal 2 of Changi Airport. I had to do some last minute work so I made sure that I chose a lounge with a nice workstation where I can be productive for an hour and a half before I fly home. Fly in, fly out.  This has been the story of our lives since 2013. As much as flying home never fails to bring so much joy to our hearts (and tummies), the whole process of going through the whole airport routine  can sometimes wear us down. Thankfully, Changi Airport is just one of the best in the world with so many food options and a couple of recreational facilities on hand while NAIA 3 is starting to shape up making the wait and transfer more bearable each time. Plus both airports got free Wi-Fi connection so no complains there! Recently, I discovered that my Citibank Premiere Miles card can give me access to one of the airport lounges in NAIA 3. That really got me so excited! For someone who loves to arrive at the airport close to the 45 minute limit of the check-in counter, I made sure that I got arrive 2 hours prior to my flight to check the lounge out.
