It's no secret that I am a big foodie traveler. This is also one of the reasons why Frannywanny.com came about. For the past decade, I've been sharing with you my travel adventures which leans mostly on the restaurants and food hops that Paul and I would come across in whatever destination we'd be in. I also got to admit that I am also a luxury traveler. By that, I mean I tend to be very picky when it comes to my choice of airline, hotel and mode of transportation. Comfort is always my top priority. After all, we travel to recharge and feel rejuvenated right? Singapore Airlines has been my top choice of airlines since I used to shuttle back and forth Singapore and Manila for four years. I guess it's pretty obvious that Paul and I share a number of similar traits and personalities as well as a million and one shared interests. There's our love to eat, to cook, to travel, to listen to the same kinds of songs and a lot more. We also love going on road trips and we do admire pretty cars. We both believe that one should not work for the car but you always have to make the car work for you. Having a car should make your life easier and if it doesn't, then sadly, you are in big trouble. Two years ago, Paul and I took the Ford Fiesta Sport for a spin. We drove to Pampanga to have an authentic Capampangan lunch followed by some pasalubong shopping for our favorite native sweets. A couple of months ago, I had the privilege to borrow the Ford Fiesta for the weekend. This invite then led to an impromptu out of town food trip to Paul's hometown in Angeles, Pampanga . Paul and I really had fun driving the Ford Fiesta as we would take turns taking this on a test drive around the city. So we continued with our Sooo Pinoy Food Tour where we left Quiapo with a mind filled with new found knowledge and a satisfied stomach after tasting samples from Excellente Ham and Master Hopia Factory. We boarded our Wi-Fi bus that took us to our final stop of the day -- Cafe Adriatico in Malate. Paul , upon learning that Cafe Adriatico was part of the itinerary, became so excited as he reminisced about the fun times he had dining there with his family when he was a little boy. He told me how rich and delicious the Chocolate Eh was and he remembered having the Beef Fondue on every visit. Sadly, the restaurant had to do slight changes through time and I can't seem to find his Beef Fondue in the menu anymore. However, the Chocolate Eh was still being served together with their sandwiches or pastries which makes a delicious Afternoon snack. I am so excited for this weekend, wanna know why? :) First of all, my college friend L and her fiance T are finally getting engaged! By this I mean, they will be having their Ting Hun and we were lucky to be invited to be there on their special day. I can't believe my dear friends are finally tying the knot in less than 5 months!! What a happy happy thing to look forward to! :) Secondly, Paul and I are going on a trip... not on a plane...not even on a boat but on a van filled with 14 other bloggers and four lucky people who will be joining us on a fun food trip around town !! I saw the itinerary and I've been so excited for the trip ever since! I've never been to most places on the list thus this will be a new experience for me. Of course, since we're also celebrating our country's Independence day this weekend, the food trip is Pinoy-themed. That's the final clue I'm giving out...it will be a Pinoy Food Trip and right now I'm having visions of Cr...

Here we go again! We've packed our bags, double triple checked our documents and printed out our itinerary. We're off to a trip that took only two months for us to prepare and boy, am I excited!! :) I can't wait to see what the USA has to offer! I must admit that although I do have very strong Chinese lineage, I grew up at the other side of town thereby depriving me from living the Oriental life where horse-drawn carriages would go around and around town, where majority would speak the Chinese language (or at least, the more popular dialect called Hokkien ), where I can stuff myself with the best tasting dimsums, noodles and a lot more. Needless to say, I'm trying to make up for the loss as I would frequently visit Manila's very own Chinatown otherwise known as Binondo . Thanks to the talent and expertise of Ivan ManDy who conducts fun walking tour around Binondo as he shares his knowledge about his side of town as well as the secret food stops that makes Binondo a must-go place for not only the tourists but for locals as well.
