One thing that I noticed when I first relocated back home was the growing popularity of eat-all-you-can Korean BBQ restaurants and they're priced really affordable too! It seems like every mall would have long queues leading to these restaurants that offer a buffet of Korean bbq meats and cooked dishes for less than P500 only. Before I left the country, the buffet has been on a rise and it came to a point when hotel buffets and restaurant buffets are charging fees somewhat close to each other. Classy interiors, impressive buffet line-up, that was the food trend back in 2012. Filipino love to eat. There's no denying there and this is probably why buffets and eat-all-you-can promotion will always be well received by the eating public. Time surely flies when you're having fun and if you're extremely busy too. Look at that, I just realized that September is over and October has just quickly rolled in. This just means that, in a few weeks, Paul and I will be celebrating our 13th year as a couple! If you put things into perspective, 13 years is pretty much how long a student (at least in the Philippines) takes to finish his elementary and secondary studies. Why is it that 13 years seemed like forever when I was still studying and it has just zoomed so fast when it comes to me being in a relationship with Paul? OMG. Lately, I've been feeling very tired. I'm not sure why. Perhaps it's because I haven't been working out as often or I've been getting up early to prepare Paul's lunch. Whatever it is, I know I have to go back to the habit of working out more and sleeping earlier. So today is indeed TGIF for me! I can't wait for the weekend where I promise myself to sleep a little longer. (sorry hun, no work lunch for you tomorrow! heehee) Times like this, I wish I'm back in Manila where I can easily head to my favorite spa for a full body massage or to my suking nail salon for my monthly mani-pedi session. I realized that I sure did a lot of de-stressing and self-pampering when I was still based in the Philippines where admittedly, these types of services are so affordable! While there's a lot of salons and nail spas scattered around the Lion City, I just can't get myself to start the habit of prettifying myself on a bi-weekly cycle knowing that it costs twice...

It's no secret how Paul and I love to travel. However, given that we have very limited leave dates at work and more than half of those are spent in Manila for Christmas, Chinese New Year and for family birthdays, we barely had any days left to really go on a vacation. That said, this is one reason why we love taking staycations every now and then. You see, we both love taking some time off from work to unwind and recharge. We both lead very hectic work lives so this is the only chance that we get to spend one entire weekend clearing our minds and catching up on sleep. Not to mention that we get each other's undivided attention as we don't have to worry about household chores or running errands too. Truth to be told, I'm not really much of a TV person. In fact, I can really count in my hands the number of times I've actually sat down and watched an entire TV show this year alone. Paul, on the other hand, cannot live without television. He has a list of weekly TV shows that he religiously follows and the remote is the first thing he looks for the moment he gets home from work. You can say that the secret to a happy marriage is not having to fight over the remote . Haha!  The only time I get to watch TV is during meal time. For instance, we would put Masterchef Asia on in the background while enjoying our meal. That's one of the few shows that I really enjoy as you all know, to me, chefs are like celebrity! OPA! I love the sound of this traditional Greek expression that is always heard in celebrations and happy occasions! Today, I had a lot of reasons to say OPA! This began with the mouth-watering Traditional Greek Salad that was served in a rectangular platter. It is a combination of sliced tomatoes, fresh cucumbers, a generous serving of feta cheese, a kalamata olive, capers and the crowning glory of the entire dish -- a juicy seared king scallop. What I did was to slowly cut up the vegetables and cheese and make sure that each bite has a teeny, tiny piece of cucumber, olive, tomato, cheese and scallop. Mmmm.. I love how the scallop meat just glides and melts in my mouth. I love this salad which is a big surprise considering that I am not really a big fan of olive and tomatoes. Another Opa moment came up when we were presented with the 2nd course of our meal. It came in a huge square white platter this time. It has been a busy and fun week with events happening left and right. While I love getting my schedules filled up to the brim, I know I should also set a limitation for myself. For instance, waking up yesterday morning, I can already feel my body sending major signals of it about to pull up the white flag anytime soon.
