For those following this blog, you would know that I am not a BIG burger fan. In fact, it was only a few years ago when I started eating beef again after a 5-year long hiatus . Don't get me wrong, it's not that I dislike burgers in fact I've had the privilege of trying some of the best tasting ones these past few years but it's not something I would crave for on a regular basis. Paul would tease me that I am such a picky burger eater. While he loves burgers and was so happy especially during our trip to the US where it was definitely heaven for all burger lovers like himself, I limited my burger intake to two all throughout our two weeks stay and for me, that was enough. Whenever we travel, I look forward to waking up early in order to have a good breakfast. Wanting to just relax and to live the local life, we decided to skip flying to Las Vegas for another exciting yet exhausting day and to just stay in the city to shop, eat and walk around. Our lazy day began with brunch at Denny's Restaurant , a diner that has a lot of branches around the US and even in some neighboring countries as well. It's good that they have a number of value meals starting at $2. We began with a plate of Buttermilk Pancakes ($2) as I was determined to enjoy a plate of all-American pancakes in this trip. However, I was a bit disappointed that Denny's pancakes were not as fluffy as I was expecting it to be. We shared a piece of pancake eat and covered it with creamy butter and syrup. Johnny Rockets may have been around since they first opened at the Eastwood Mall two years ago but it was my first time there after checking out Robinsons Galleria 's newest wing called the Veranda , two weeks ago. Why I love the Veranda . It has it's own parking space! Note though that for those who are planning to shop after dining at any of the outlets here, the rate may be a bit higher as compared to parking in their basement parking lot. However, it gives you direct access to the numerous restaurants available and this is perfect especially when you're very hungry just like how I was when my sister and I visited that day.  As we were deciding on where to eat, we noticed that there was loud music coming from one particular restaurants and the servers where all outside dancing. It was an exciting lunch as I was back at my favorite American diner ... Mr. Jones ! Just a month ago, I first tried Mr. Jones with the Yummy team and now I'm back for a food tasting in preparation for an exciting event for work! Thanks to Raintree Restaurant's super accommodating and friendly Marketing Manager, Belle ; I found myself enjoying a wide array of Mr Jones' specialties earlier was these will be served to our special guests in a couple of weeks. Happy Fourth of July!!! Excited for an All-American celebration, my colleagues and I took up the courage and trooped all the way to Makati's red-light district for this one-of-a-kind dining experience at Filling Station . Although the dining area begins at the second floor, the All-American feel starts right at the moment you step inside. Walls lined with movie memorabilias, old Coke collectibles (to the great delight of my Coke-loving friend Z) and a vintage phone that actually works! Going up, we're greeted by a life-size statue of no less than the King of Rock and Roll, Elvis Presley. As we were led to our table, I simply had to resist the urge to go trigger-happy with the number of cool displays and more life-size statues of Superman, Flash and even Wonderwoman!
