#SayCheese : Enjoying the finest European Cheese in Singapore

It's no secret how much I love cheese. For me, it's that one thing that can never go wrong regardless of what type of dish you add it in. Cheese on crackers. Cheese with Pasta. Cheese on sweet Pichi Pichi. Cheese Sandwich. Even Cheese on my Milk Tea! I'm totally crazy about cheese and most especially the soft cheese kind.

Cheese is indeed a very versatile ingredient and recently, I attended a lunch affair where Chef Emmanuel Stroobant showed us four different dishes where he made use of cheese. Before that though, I got to try a mix of European cheeses with a very varied taste profile and history.

Now, doesn't it sound fun to enjoy a plate of cheese while enjoying the beautiful view of the Marina Bay? I was happily munchi
ng on my cheese and crackers while watching Chef Emmanuel do a short demo on how to make cheese. Yes, he actually did it right in front of us!

I got to sample 4 different dishes but these two were my top picks:

Fried Lemon Grass salad, Carrot Puree, Gouda, Spring Roll
This was my favorite! It's very similar to the fresh Vietnamese spring roll with a nice cheesy texture. It's purely vegetarian if I'm not mistaken and trust me, one piece is not enough.

Emmental, Basil Extraction, Live Nitro-Strawberry Sorbet
Who doesn't love sorbet? Just when I thought having grated emmental cheese on top of this sweet and fruity dessert might just be too weird. I was proven wrong. The combination of the salty cheese and the savory basil matched the sweet strawberry sorbet perfectly. I loved this!

Are you also a cheese lover? Watch out for the #SayCheese food truck that will be going around Singapore starting today (26 October) up until Friday (28 October). The truck will be serving bite-sized cheese treats like the Bleu Hollandaise on Egg Croustade, Mozzarella Mousse and Shaved Parmesan Smashed Peas Crostini and Gratin Dauphinois to name a few.
