Valentine's Pizza Date with Angel's Pizza

Finally, the Year of the Snake is here and I pray that this year will bring more luck and happiness to ALL of us!

Today, my family all wore our red dresses and shirts as we celebrate the Chinese New Year. After all, red for us, Chinese means lucky and for everyone else in the world, it's also the color of loveeeeee ♥. It's just perfect timing that Valentine's Day is just a few days away and Paul and I will be celebrating this for the first time in the Lion City. (Yep! We're leaving very very very...SOON! *happy tears happy tears*)

I'm sure restaurants will be bustling with reservations similar to how it has been for the past years. Some couples would opt to celebrate it a day before or even the weekend after just to avoid the traffic. Others would have a really formal 6...7...8 course degustacion meal while some would prefer to celebrate it at the comforts of their own home. Wherever you may be, which ever way you'll celebrate it, what matters is that this day is all about celebrating your love not only to your boyfriends, husbands but even to the entire family too.

Since Paul and I won't be here on Valentine's Day, we surprised his family with a romantic pizza dinner one evening courtesy of Angel's Pizza Pasta Combo. We tried the Heart Shaped Pizza which is a limited time offering from January 16 to February 28, 2013 only. If this won't get everyone into a lovey-dovey mood, then I don't know what will.

These Heart Shaped Pizza may only be applicable to Big Family Thin Crust Pizza only. It makes sense though as it won't look too impressive if you create a heart out of the smaller sized pizza. Nothing would be left of it! We tried two flavors : Angel's Pepperoni (Php. 556) and Extravaganzza. I like how crunchy the thin crust pizza was. Normally, I stay away from Pepperoni as I'm not really a big fan of it but I noticed that Angel's Pepperoni was made to be so crispy it's like having pepperoni chips on thin pizza dough.

For those who wants the Original Hand Tossed Pizzas though, I highly recommend that you try the Chicken Aloha (Php. 340 - 599) which was our numero uno choice that evening. We all love Hawaiian flavored pizza and this one was made more meatier and smokier with the inclusion of the BBQ Chicken Chunks and BBQ sauce. It was so good that we couldn't stop raving about it with every bite. The crust had a good bite to it leaving it not too hard nor was it too chewy either.

Here's a Valentine's Day idea, take your special someone out for a romantic picnic date under the stars while enjoying this Heart Shaped Pizza, her favorite pasta and a bottle of wine. Throw in a slice of her favorite cake too! Trust me, women can never say no to sweets. ♥ ♥ ♥

As a parent, I have one thing that I dread the most and that's when any of my kids fall sick. From the moment we detect the faintest sniffle followed by sneezes and runny nose, we know one thing is for sure -- we will be having a couple of sleepless nights. For twins, it is very common that when one falls sick, expect the other one to follow suit in just a matter of days, sometimes within hours even.  A few years ago, my twins would catch a cold and we really would struggle because they'd become very fussy and cranky at night. Bag of Beans (Charito) in Tagaytay

I can't believe that we have been frequenting Tagaytay for more than a decade now and not once have I written about Bag of Beans ! I tried searching all over this blog and I found..nothing. To think that not a single trip to Tagaytay, back then, would ever be complete without stopping by Bag of Beans for lunch or merienda. I must have been to engrossed with their coffee and bread that I wasn't able to take photos of the place and their food thus no blog entry. They, after all, have one of the best brewed coffee in Tagaytay and the yummiest bread to go with it too. Bag of Beans has been an institution in Tagaytay. Just like us, other tourists and visitors would make sure to drop by in order to grab a bite or to take home some of their homemade goodies every time they find themselves in Tagaytay. Misto at Seda Vertis North

Happy Friday!  I'm not going to lie, Friday is one of my favorite days because it means, we're just a day away from the weekend! Who doesn't love the weekend, right? This is the day when I give my twins my uninterrupted attention. We would start the day with any breakfast of their choice (normally waffles for J, pancakes or peanut butter sandwich for L) followed by an hour of doing their homework and in the afternoon, we head out for their swim class! Sunday is more laid back as we would stay home and just laze around the house otherwise, we would go and visit my in laws and spend the day there.  Speaking of the weekend, I suddenly remembered one of the best weekends that we've had this year so far. This was when we had our staycation at Seda Vertis North  and the twins truly enjoyed every minute of it. Of course, they love our comfy and very spacious Corner Suite with an adjacent Deluxe Room as well as checking out the hotel's amenities and the Vertis North mall
