The Rotisserie, Chicken and Gourmet Salads

Taking a break from our usual rice toppings / packed lunch / healthy salads and sandwiches options, our team decided to head a little further out for lunch one Friday. Our choice that day -- The Rotisserie along Telok Ayer street.

We have been passing by this restaurant for some time now and noticed that it's always packed during lunch hour. Given that people here are such foodies, having a long queue or a jam-packed restaurant is definitely a clear sign that the food must be good.

The system here is a bit different from a normal restaurant. You have to queue for the cashier first, place your order, pay for it then head over to the counter to get your food. It was quite a challenge for me as I really like choosing my food slowly as I see it before finally making my decision. Well I guess I just have to be a little bit more flexible at times right?

So after making the fastest ever scan over the counter, I made my decision. It was really tough I tell you. I was being lured by all these salads, burgers, chicken, sandwiches... I really didn't know what to get.

Finally I chose the Quarter Roasted Chicken with Two Sides (S$11.50). For the sides, it was a choice of either getting chips (fries), hot salad or cold salad. I went for two cold salad -- Coleslaw and Pasta Salad.

No wonder The Rotisserie is so popular, try their Roast Chicken and you'll know why. The meat was very tender and the sauce perfectly complemented the dish. It was very comforting to eat it and I really enjoyed the cold side dishes as well. It would have been perfect though if you could mix the side dishes. I would love to have some mashed potatoes with coleslaw. Why oh why can't hot and cold side dishes mix?

We all enjoyed our meal and will surely be back. One trick though is to go early to avoid having to wait in line for a long time. They have 4 branches, 3 of which are located in the CDB area. This is definitely the perfect choice for office lunch breaks.

Check out The Rotisserie at the China Square Food Centre, OCBC Centre East, Marina Bay Link Mall and the Rochester Mall in Buona Vista.
