My Thai : Their take on Bangkok's Best

Image
It has been two years since our last visit to the Land of Smiles a.k.a. Bangkok and one thing that why we miss it so much is because of their delicious food. Every meal was an adventure as we try their local favorites such as the Pad Thai, Green Curry, Pomelo Salad and of course the Thai Iced Tea. I think we must have had Pad Thai in almost every single meal during our three days, two nights stay. After work, one week day, Paul and I found ourselves at My Thai , the newest Thai restaurant along Wilson street in San Juan . It's part of the same group as Pho Hoa and Jack's Loft wherein you may also cross-order from these two other restaurants. Inside, the interiors was predominantly red with tiny black drawers lining up the wall. We chose to sit at the couch which was way more comfy than being in the yellow wooden chairs. Our My Thai picks I was craving for Thai Pork Bagoong Rice (Php. 230) which is what I first ordered even without opening the menu. No visit to a...

Lunch Date with Mom at HK Choi

Image
Here's my latest discovery with Mommy during one of our shopping dates in SM Megamall . Located at the second level of The Atrium, we found HK Choi which is the sister restaurant of Choi Garden , our favorite Chinese restaurant in Annapolis street here in San Juan . The ambiance looks very formal with mellow Chinese music playing at the background, servers were in the usual Chinese get-up and pretty rotating lanterns on the ceiling are lined up near the window area overlooking EDSA. We were led to one of their comfy couches as we marveled at the beautiful interiors of the restaurant. In our family, my Mom's the food expert and so she also took care of ordering for the two of us that day. For starters, Mommy chose the Xiao Long Pao (Php.90). She has always been searching for good Xiao Long Paos here in Manila ever since she tasted the real thing at Din Tai Fung during one of her trips to Singapore. :) For her, the best Xiao Long Pao must still have the soup inside th...

An Animal EnKounter at Enchanted Kingdom

Image
Enchanted Kingdom is known to bring your fun and thrilling rides! From the Rio Grande Rapids to the Anchors Away and of course to the Space Shuttle. This year, in partnership with the Yupangco Group of Zoobic Safari all visitors will be able to meet Zoori the White Lion! It was my first time to see a while lion up close and it looked perfectly harmless I guess because it was properly trained :) Inside Zoori's Adventure, visitors will go through different sections that will teach everyone about lion and their living habitat. Expect to go through a revolving tunnel and balancing room that gives us a glimpse of how the lion feels while walking inside the jungle. Test out your balancing skills as you go through a narrow path similar to how a lion would as they carefully go through their daily path in the wilderness. Here's another reason why your summer plan should include a trip to Enchanted Kingdom ! Enchanted Kingdom is located at Sta. Rosa, Laguna. Regular...

Feel the Magic at Enchanted Kingdom!

Image
It was a great way to celebrate Easter! At exactly 930AM last Sunday, I together with Paul , my sister Steph, our cousin A and a couple of friends boarded the special Enchanted Kingdom shuttle that will take us directly to Sta. Rosa, Laguna and back. We were with our fellow bloggers and a couple of friends from media. The ride was really short as I just remembered taking a short nap and when I woke up, I immediately saw the ferris wheel from the window. My sister and cousin were excitedly clapping and preparing their bags already. Enchanted Kingdom is definitely one place every local and foreign visitors should visit! It has a wide array of rides and attraction suitable for every member of the family! Everyone in our group was so excited to explore the park. Paul was our designated photographer while our friends C, J and P were the brave souls who really tried almost all of the thrilling rides. I was just looking forward to the water rides while my sister and cousin just went ...

They wrote...we chose....and we now have THREE winners !!! Here are the names of the lucky ones who will be receiving a cute Havaianas USB stick as they answered the question: “If anything was possible, what would you do to make the world happy for a day?” 1) Jackielyn Rhio Guerrero To make the world happy for a day, I would invent a machine that can turn water into food.. one way to solve our major problem poverty! 2) Zoan If anything is possible, I will let everyone feel that they are loved by me, simply by hugging and kissing them telling them that they are important. Because sometimes Each one of us just needs a little act of kindness to feel that we are important. 3) Fiona I would open Enchanted Kingdom free-of-charge for all. All rides and food will also be free for everybody. So even for just a day people would forget all their problems and just savor the moment of childhood fun.
