Novotel Kuala Lumpur

Image
One thing that I really take great pains in preparing for when traveling is our hotel accommodation. I really make it a point to research well to make sure that we will be staying in a comfortable room and at a hotel that's accessible to the spots that we will be visiting to also lessen our transportation cost. Thanks to Paul's cousin who was able to cut my research time in half by recommending Novotel KL , I immediately visited their official website and I actually liked what I saw. This was where we stayed for 5 lovely nights at Kuala Lumpur. Entering our room, I immediately noticed the view from our window, it was the Petronas Towers and since we arrived late in the afternoon, the twin towers were beautifully lit up and the sight was just marvelous. Our bed was very comfortable too and I love it that we have a small couch where Paul and I would hang out while enjoying the view of the Twin Towers. However, unlike our hotel accommodation in Singapore , our packag...

Kuala Lumpur: Where to Go

Image
Kuala Lumpur is every shopaholic and cultural fan's mecca, the city is bustling with malls, skyscrapers and food alleys. While we were not able to travel out of Kuala Lumpur during our 5 days stay, we decided to make the most of loving the city and enjoying everything that it can offer to its visitors. Jalan Bukit Bintang Ask anyone who has been to Kuala Lumpur and this will definitely be part of their list of must-visit. This is Kuala Lumpur's answer to Singapore's Orchard Road or Hong Kong's Causeway Bay. Starting from the Pavillion Mall which is a high end mall that houses an IMAX theater, spas, a fitness gym and more than a hundred retail stores. I love the mix of stores and food establishments which makes it very relaxing to stroll around. This is also the closest mall to our hotel thus we found ourselves visiting Pavillion every single day during our Kuala Lumpur stay. Just across the Pavillion, there's the Starhill Mall which also has a number of ...

Malaysia, Truly Asia

Image
We are on the second leg of our 10-day Honeymoon. From beautiful Singapore we flew to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia via Air Asia. There are actually more than one way to get to Kuala Lumpur from Singapore. There's the 5-hour bus ride, the chartered car drive or the 55 minutes air travel. Not wanting to wait very long, we chose the later and luckily Air Asia was also having a Seat Sale at the time when we booked our ticket! Also, Air Asia passengers goes to the Terminal 1 of Changi Airport that has far more food and retail establishments than its Budget Terminal. Our flight was smooth and stress-free. In no time, we have landed at Kuala Lumpur's Low Cost Terminal (LCCT). After a short walk from our plane to the Immigration Area, we breezed through the luggage belt and out towards a chain of restaurants and transport terminals. To be honest, we had to adjust a bit as we got used to the cleanliness and tight security of Singapore. Malaysia is more lax and it has a good mix o...

Image
After more than a month-long of blogging hiatus, I am finally back and here I am attending my first ever blogger's event together with my fellow Lifestyle and the top Beauty bloggers in the blogosphere. It was an invitation from Pond's , the one and only facial product that I believe in and I've been using since I was still in Grade School, with that how can I say no? I love this product so much that I was pretty lucky to be rewarded with a romantic dinner for two a month before our BIG day. The event was held at the beautiful Manila Peninsula Hotel . We were led to a function room where we were given a short briefing about the two exciting new product of the brand... Presenting Pond's Flawless White Blemish Prevention UV Cream . This is one product that caught my attention as I have been forever hoping that my freckles, brought about by regular exposure to the sun during my younger days, would go away. I've also been very conscious about going under ...

Meet Jean and Rosz . I am a fan of accessories and I love browsing through photos of the hippest and cutest bracelets, necklaces and cocktail rings against their crisp white background. Frannywanny goes to the Singapore Food Festival 2010

Image
A food lover will always be a food lover. No matter where we go, Paul and I make it a point that we get to have a wonderful gastronomic adventure in our trips here and abroad. Luck must have been on our side as we just recently found out that the Singapore Food Festival will happen just around the same time that we're there. Of course, this was immediately included in our itinerary. It has been drizzling all day but it didn't stop us from taking the MRT all the way to Clarke Quay in order to check the festival out. From the station, it was a short walk crossing Swissotel Merchant Court and soon you'll see the Singapore River with lots of small stalls selling shirts and other retail items. The Clarke Quay Food Street was located along the Read Bridge. It wasn't difficult to locate this as all we had to do was to follow the steady stream of people going in one direction. After going around each and every stall, we decided to buy our very own Kopi Tiam card ...
