Just Dial : City Delivery!

It was one lazy Sunday and with our trusty househelp out on a day off, I told Mom to just relax, not cook lunch and I'll take care of it. She smiled and thought that I would probably take charge in the kitchen...well, that was not really what I had in mind.

The trust is, I've been wanting to try the latest delivery service in the metro by City Delivery. Since their launch last year, I've been hearing raves from colleagues who have tried their service as they had to stay till late at the office. Imagine veering away from fast food and enjoying your favorite restaurant dishes delivered straight to your doorstep (or in our case, our office lobby).

Finally, I got hold of a City Delivery menu which made it easier for us to plan our menu. I found out that I can only order from restaurants within my cluster (Greenhills/Ortigas/San Juan/Mandaluyong/Pasig). Luckily, the list is quite long for this cluster and it took me some time to decide from which restaurant I'd like to order from.

My choice was Jatujak and Peri Peri Grillhouse. Two familiar restaurants whose quality and taste I trust. Note that you have to hit a minimum amount of P500 per transaction and one restaurant is equal to one transaction. First part of my call was to order from Jatujak in SM Megamall, my sister has been craving for Thai and so we ordered the Catfish and Green Mango Salad, Pork Satay, and Pad Thai.

Next part of the call was for Peri Peri Grillhouse where I ordered a whole Peri Peri Chicken and side orders of my favorite Creamed Spinach and warm Tortillas.

The City Delivery representative took my name, home address and told me that my order will arrive within 30 to  45 minutes. I placed my order at exactly 11:30AM and so I expect my order to arrive anytime between 12noon to 12:15PM.

With the table ready, we eagerly waited for our City Delivery order to arrive. Mom, wanting to make sure the food will fit all 5 of us, quickly whipped a plate of steamed suahe to add to our lunch line-up. It was around 12noon already then.

At exactly 12:15PM, I can hear the sound of the motorcycle coming closer to our home. Taking a peek from the window, I saw a bright orange and green motorcycle parked in front of our gate. Ding-dong! There goes the doorbell.

My City Delivery orders are here!!

Paul was very impressed that despite getting orders from two restaurants, our delivery boy still made it on time. No follow-up calls made which is one thing we have been doing with most fast food and pizza chains.

I love how each order was properly packaged in plastic reusable containers bearing the City Delivery sticker. Great job on branding!

We carefully transferred all dishes into our serving plates and lunch is finally ready!

I also noticed that all dishes were also served warm. Except for the Catfish and Green Mango Salad from Jatujak which is really a cold food item anyway. The Peri Peri Chicken was already chopped into serving pieces and the tortilla was still very warm. Lastly, no spills here! One thing I do not like are spilled sauces and oil drippings that gets our hands all messy.

Look at our lovely lunch table!!

Bon Apetit!!
